5.

USE OF THE SOUND / LIGHT LOFT

5.1

Policy: Christ the King Lutheran Church strives to present meaningful worship experiences to its congregation and the surrounding community through services held at its facilities as well as through regular video broadcasts of services. Audio and visual services are a key component in enriching the worship experience. Providing quality sound, lighting, and video taping support is an expectation of our congregation. The Worship and Music subcommittee, through the Audio/Visual Services Production group, oversees the purchase, operation and maintenance of audio, lighting, and video recording equipment consistent with the objectives set by the committee to provide quality worship services in the church facilities as well as in outreach activities through video tape productions of these services.

5.2

Procedures:

5.2.1 The sanctuary loft access door will be locked at all times unless a member of the church staff or a member of the Audio/Visual Services Group is present and/or overseeing activities in the loft area. 5.2.2 Only members of the church staff or the Audio/Visual Production Services group who have been trained in the operation of the audio, lighting, and video recording equipment will be allowed to operate the equipment. 5.2.3 Equipment locations and control settings will not be changed from those positions and settings required for regular Sunday morning worship services without prior approval from the Audio/Visual Production Services group. If approved changes are made, the changes must be reset to the position/operation condition required for regular Sunday morning worship services. 5.2.4 Occupancy of the loft will be limited to a maximum of ten individuals. 5.2.5 Photographers and videographers will be allowed in the loft area if a member of the church staff or member of the Audio/Visual Production Services group is present. 5.2.6 No unsupervised children will be allowed in the loft area. 5.2.7 All audio, lighting, and video recording equipment will remain on the church premises. 5.2.8 No food or beverages will be allowed in the loft area.

6. USE OF KITCHEN 6.1

Policy: Christ the King Lutheran Church will offer food service facilities in support of authorized and organized ministries and program activities of CtK. The kitchen may be used by persons or groups outside of CtK on an availability basis only. Scheduled CtK programs and activities will take precedence over all other uses of the facility. The use of the church facilities by any group other than those recognized as a church-related organizational entity must be approved in advance and occur on a not-to-interfere basis with any programmed activity. For the purpose of definition, a group outside of CtK may include non-profit and character building groups meeting at CtK such as TOPS, Lutheran Youth Encounter training, Porcelain Art Guild, etc. A group activity outside of CtK by members may include weddings, receptions, rehearsal dinners, showers, birthday parties, etc.

6.2

Procedures for General Use:

6.2.1 The Kitchen Coordinator is responsible to the CPC for the food service operations of the church. 6.2.2 The Kitchen Coordinator is directly responsible for all food service operations. This includes the planning of services; the purchase of food and other consumable items; the recruitment, training and utilization of paid and volunteer food service personnel; and the inventory, accounting, and management of food service activities. 6.2.3 CtK sponsored program groups using the kitchen will be placed on the calendar in the office. 6.2.4 All groups using the kitchen must coordinate their activity with the Kitchen Coordinator. 6.2.5 Kitchen use rules will be will be distributed to all CtK sponsored organizations and groups and individuals outside of CtK who use either the large or small kitchen, as follows: 6.2.5.1 Hang all wet items on the wood rack to dry in the large kitchen. 6.2.5.2 Use of dishwasher in large kitchen requires instruction. 6.2.5.3 Place food to be disposed in plastic lined trash container, and dispose of in the outside dumpster. 6.2.5.4 Food will not be stored on countertop or in refrigerator. 6.2.5.5 Return all kitchen equipment and housewares where you found it. (Large kitchen is designated with a Red Mark, Mini kitchen is designated with a Blue Mark.) 6.2.5.6 Do not use colored beverages containing red food dye #5 (such as red, pink orange or purple) for events. 6.2.5.7 Wash and clean all surfaces, kitchen equipment and housewares. 6.2.5.8 Leave the kitchen in as good or better condition than when you found it. 6.2.6 Kitchen Equipment may be taken off site for a church function with approval by the Kitchen Coordinator. No equipment may be taken off the premises for personal use. 6.2.7 Arrangements for use of Christ the King dishes must be made with the Kitchen Coordinator. 6.2.8 If equipment is lost or broken, the responsible person may be required to repair or replace it.

6.3

Procedures for Use of Kitchen by Non-Member Groups:

6.3.1 The responsible person for a non-member activity will contact the Kitchen Coordinator. An instuctional fee established by the CPC will be paid to the Kitchen Coordinator. 6.3.2 A “Kitchen Facilities Agreement” form, obtained through the Kitchen Coordinator, must to be signed by all outside groups using the kitchens, and kept on file by the Kitchen Coordinator. 6.3.3 Use of the kitchen and equipment for all non-sponsored CtK activities (even if all attendees are church members) will be on a cost/fee basis. 6.3.4 When a meal is served, an authorized kitchen staff employee or volunteer must be employed to prepare and/or supervise the meal preparation. Payment for this individual’s services will be required. 6.3.5 When only refreshments are served, an individual specifically authorized by the Kitchen Coordinator will be in charge of the activity to ensure the kitchen is left clean and orderly.
