Portland Adventist Elementary School Back to School List – 2018-2019 Middle School REQUIRED FOR ALL STUDENTS • BIBLE – preferably NLT (Phones not allowed) • 1 pkg loose leaf paper (150-200 sheets) • 10-12 Red pens (for correcting and losing) • Pencils/pens – 24+ throughout the year (you would be amazed how many get “lost”!) • 4 Composition notebooks – 1 each for Social Studies, Science, Language Arts, Bible • 3 Spiral notebooks – 1 each Reading, Math, Bible • Organizational Binder – zips closed, has pockets and tabs for supplies…large enough for 4 spirals, planner, and paper, but not unwieldy. • USB Jump drive for storing and transferring research and projects • BOOK COVERS – 2 large and 2 extra large • 3 glue sticks or 1 bottle of glue • Scissors • 2 Pocket folders with 3 hole clips • Colored pencils for map work - 12 or more colors • Markers – 8 or more colors • Highlighters – 4 color pack • 3 x 5 note cards with lines • White board markers – 4 color minimum Math • Calculator –TI-30 is preferred (Phones not allowed) • Graph paper • Protractor (clear or translucent) • Ruler (12”) • Compass • PRE-ALGEBRA requires special paper – Mr. Neely will explain the first day of class. NOT NEEDED AT BEGINNING OF YEAR – at least 1 tri-fold project board will be needed – and if used carefully, can be re-used next year. *** This is not intended to be a complete list – projects throughout the year may require additional materials be procured*** ^^It is recommended to keep some supplies at home and send them after Christmas, i.e. pens, pencils, some of the paper, some spirals^^
