  Position: Community Outreach Coordinator Position Type: Full-Time City: Austin, TX Join the team that seeks to revolutionize the way Austinites navigate the urban core. Launched in December 2013, Austin B-cycle provides a 24-hour, 7-days/week service of on demand bikes at kiosks located throughout the downtown Austin area. Austin Bcycle is hiring creative, forward thinking professionals grow Austin’s first public bike sharing service to low-income communities. Austin B-cycle is implementing a grant-funded program to address challenges and barriers to entry for currently underserved communities. Our B-cycle for All program focuses on very low-income residents who live or work in our service area as well as residents for whom Spanish is their primary language. Strategies and tactics developed to encourage bike share use as a low cost transportation alternative will be shared with other bike share cities across the country and scaled for the Austin community where successful. The Community Outreach Coordinator will be responsible for helping to develop and address barriers of cost, safety, comfort with bicycling, and language through a bilingual outreach and education campaign along with subsidized membership and cash payment options. This position will work with the marketing team to plan for onsite marketing promotions, logistics, staffing, sponsor activation, and operational needs for each event and will work with support staff at partnering affordable housing organization to develop outreach plans for their residents. Applicants should be willing to work with other members of the outreach team and coordinate volunteers to meet program goals. Availability to work nights and weekends is required. The position is full-time, paid hourly and designated as a temporary position for the term of the grant, six months. Pay will be competitive and benefits include commuting stipend, paid holidays, and complimentary Austin B-cycle membership. The equity program may be extended or made permanent pending success and additional grant funding. REQUIRED SKILLS: • Experience in event planning • Experience in customer service • Willingness to work in a low-income community and interact with a diversity of Austin residents • Strong communications and strategic planning skills • Comfort presenting to small and large groups and well as 1:1 communication with potential customers and partners • Report with best practices of implementation • Available to work nights and weekends • Bilingual fluency – English and Spanish • Energetic and dynamic outlook

PREFERRED SKILLS • Bachelor’s degree • Experience coordinating volunteers and working with a team • Background working with affordable housing and support services organizations • Knowledge of the Austin market with existing relationships with small and medium size businesses and/or organizations, especially in the downtown Austin area • Experience in start up companies
