Business Division: SAE Athens Responsible to: Campus Manager 1. Organisation Background: Navitas Limited, of which SAE is a division, was founded in 1994 and is a leading global education provider that offers an extensive range of educational services for students and professionals including university programs, English language training and settlement services, creative media education, workforce education and student recruitment. Navitas operates across three Divisions, University Programs, Professional and English Programs and SAE. SAE which was acquired by Navitas Limited in 2011 is the world’s leading educator in creative media industries. Established in 1976, it now spans the globe with 54 campuses in 28 countries. SAE provides education services to over 10.000 students and employs approximately 1.500 staff.

3. Overview and Objectives of the Position: The ”Academic Coordinator” Position encompasses all matters relating to the Academic assets of a campus, including curriculum, delivery (lecturing, tutoring) and resources (equipment, software, laboratories) across all departments. It is therefore a key role in ensuring an optimal student experience. The ultimate goals of the role is to guarantee that curricula are up to date, relevant and delivered to the highest standards and that the campus resources are run as effectively and efficiently as possible, while all regulatory and accreditation requirements are met. This role defines the framework for the development and implementation of the local curriculum.

5. Key accountabilities that are part of the role:    

Coordinate the work of the “Heads of Departments“ in conjunction with the Campus Manager Ensure the effective implementation of all relevant academic and administrative policies, and where required to co-ordinate the relevant procedures Advice and guide academic staff at the approved Degree Centre on all academic and quality assurance matters Liaise closely with the Academic Manager to promote consistency in academic standards and equivalent student experience between Campuses and Degree Centres in the Region Address and resolve course-related queries from staff and current and prospective students Ensure the provision of reliable and timely information to students relating to learning, teaching and assessment throughout the course Assess the suitability of prospective students and students requesting course retake options, including the conduct of relevant interviews and advice admissions staff Ensure regular review and reporting of hardware/software needs and resource requirements related to teaching and learning are undertaken by programme coordinators Ensure the organisation, preparation and delivery of lectures, seminars and/or tutorials as required, and to undertake relevant duties as agreed with the Campus Manager1 Ensure provision of appropriate support to optimise the quality of student learning experience, to participate in and oversee preparation, setting, correction, assessment and moderation of relevant course work, and ensure prompt provision of appropriate feedback to students Chair the local Board of Studies and to ensure that it operates effectively Facilitate the involvement of the External Examiner in accessing and discussing student work Organise Assessment Panels and participate in Assessment Boards, working with the Senior Academic Coordinator, the Group Academic Coordinator and others as appropriate, if applicable, to chair the local Assessment Panel; Be responsible for the MU Annual Monitoring process, in liaison with the Group Academic Coordinator and report to Senior Academic Coordinator Attend all relevant academic and administrative meetings as required Maintain academic records for courses with particular attention to the timely and reliable transmission of these records to academic administration staff Participate in open-days Prepare all relevant course reports

6. Key Performance Indicators:  Grade Point Average of all departments incl. Degree  Graduation Rate of all departments incl. Degree  Termination Rate of all departments incl. Degree  Student Survey Ratings of all departments incl. Degree

7. Selection Criteria: Essential:      

At least 2 years Lecturing experience Demonstrable experience in Education environment Demonstrable experience in leading a team Minimum BA (Hons) or BSc (Hons) in relevant field of expertise or substantial industry experience Written and spoken English and Greek is a must Eligible to work in Greece

Desirable:   

SAE graduate and/or SAE experience will be highly valued MA highly valued Demonstrable experience in Creative media Industry or Education
