TECHNICAL SERVICES

Audio Visual Technician (Primary Support to Airdrie Campus)

POSITION FOCUS The Audio Visual Technician will actively support the ministries of Centre Street Church by providing audio, visual and lighting related infrastructure and operations as well as leadership to volunteer support technicians, at CSC’s campus locations, with Airdrie as the primary campus.

Proven, effective leadership experience. Demonstrated ability to recruit, develop and retain volunteers. Experience and understanding of complex, high end audio and video systems. Post-secondary audio / technical education preferred (relevant experience may be considered). Basic lighting skills, knowledge and experience. Knowledge and understanding of the sonic needs of diverse groups, including contemporary worship bands, choral and orchestral, concerts, spoken word and dramatic presentations. The ability to work in a creative and high-pressure environment with evolving requirements. Highly detailed, organized and demonstrates effective interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills. Excellent balance of people and task skills with an ability to handle diversity and change – must be flexible with a solutions-oriented mindset. The ability to coordinate efforts with various departments and staff within an organization. Provide wise counsel and decisions for the development of regional campus technical infrastructure. Familiarity with industry standard AV practices, connectors, patching, set up and operation. Considerable physical activity. Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds. Must have a valid Alberta Driver’s License with a clean driving record. If married, demonstrates a strong and healthy marriage and family, with spousal commitment to their calling into ministry and spousal involvement in the life of CSC as a participating member.

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS 1. Understand, support and comply with CSC’s Membership Covenant, Statements of Faith (as defined in the General Operating Bylaws and Letters Patent) and Statement of Theological Principles and Ministry Practices. 2. Adhere to and uphold CSC’s Personnel Policies, Team Values and Staff Code of Conduct. 3. Follow established coaching and performance management models. 4. Attract, recruit, empower, develop, retain and shepherd volunteers. 5. Execute the role to the glory of God, with excellence and an exemplary work ethic.

POSITION EXPECTATIONS 1. Manage and provide technical support to all weekend services and events at Airdrie Campus where any audio/visual technical needs are required. 2. Recruit, empower, develop and retain volunteers. 3. Assist with technical training when requested. 4. Ensuring the coordination / scheduling of all volunteer and contract staff technical positions. 5. Manage the maintenance, repair, and replacement of all fixed and portable technical gear at Airdrie Campus. 6. Co-ordinate and supervise the safe transportation of equipment to and from off-site locations. 7. Provide new purchase recommendations to the Technical Director for Airdrie Campus. 8. Participate in on-going Airdrie Campus technical development projects. 9. Ongoing personal development in relevant areas of technical services is expected. 10. Attend staff meetings, technical & regional meetings and other all staff gatherings. 11. Manage and provide technical support to other campuses/services/events as required. Additional Staff and Leadership Expectations Understand, adhere to and champion established staff culture and leadership standards: 1. Actively participate in a small group or accountability group. 2. Attend a minimum of one CSC weekend service on a regular basis. 3. 4. Perform other duties as requested by the Technical Director. 5. Actively participate in staff meetings, retreats, organizational development days, all-team days, membership meetings and special events designated by Senior Leadership as required.
