“Power Prayer”

Ephesians 3:14-21 Ice Breaker: Share a time when you were amazed at the love someone showered on you. What is one area, this past year, where your capacity has increased? (other than stomach). Study Questions: (READ Ephesians 3:14-21) 1. What insight, principle or observation did you find to be most fresh, eye-opening or troubling? Explain.

2. Describe what it looks like to be spiritually strong in your inner being.

(verse 16)

3. If the Spirit already has promised to indwell everyone who has put their faith in Jesus, why do we need to pray for these things?

4. In what ways is God’s love for us like a rooted tree and a strong foundation? (verse 17)

“Power Prayer”

Ephesians 3:14-21 Ever ask yourself questions that originate deep inside: “Why do I feel so ineffective and powerless? I’m supposed to have the Holy Spirit’s power to endure trials, overcome temptation and serve others . . . so why do I feel so weak and exhausted spiritually on the inside?” If that is your problem, listen closely to Paul’s prayer, for that is exactly what He prays for the Ephesian believers, to recover from losing heart. Pray for yourself and friends for . . . 1. Inner spiritual strength (verse16)

2. Deepening spiritual intimacy (verse 17-18)

3. Expanding spiritual capacity (verses19-21)

Next Step: This week step aside from the ‘grocery list’ prayer and use Paul’s model for your own prayer. Anticipate God to move in power from the inside out.
