Powering a Hospital Hospitals need power! It is always a bit challenging to provide reliable electricity in remote locations like Malumghat, Bangladesh. Many people have worked hard to help design a system and to purchase the materials we need to power our hospital. We really appreciate their help. On a normal day, we experience at least 4 to 6 power outages. Sometimes the power is out for many hours and sometimes only for a few minutes. In addition to outages, there are many brown outs and huge changes in the voltage which are not good for hospital equipment. Leman Engineering in Indiana helped design a system that will monitor the incoming power, level the voltage, and bring generators online when needed. This will all work together to power various hospital equipment that will provide oxygen, monitor patients vitals, sterilize instruments for surgery, and keep the lights on, of course! It is exciting to see progress being made with the electrical work which brings this hospital closer to completion. We can't help thinking about our real source of power. We know we need God's power, not only to complete the construction, but to utilize this facility to bring physical and spiritual healing to Bangladesh. We would love for more Bengalis to experience the power of God and this hospital has a huge potential to be a part of that! Please pray for us and the tasks ahead. In the coming weeks, we will be working along with our Bengali crew to get all of this equipment installed and operational. There will be many things competing for Dale's time and the electrical work often needs special focus. In addition to power, we are working on getting elevators purchased and many, many other things that need to happen to complete this facility. Also, please pray for the medical team as they begin putting together a plan to transition to their new facility.
