Ukraine with Heart for Orphans TEAM MEMBERS: Nancy Hathaway, Eva Kercado, Carol-Jo Osinski, Mark Simon, Kat Slining, Sue Tobik, Wes White, Luke Wills, Dick Young *Ukraine is 7 hours ahead of EST

DAY 1: Friday, Nov. 2 Please pray for safe travels as the team departs from the Richmond airport and starts the journey to Ukraine with a layover in Frankfurt, Germany. Pray that God will use the journey to make Himself known to and through the team. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working. - JAMES 5:16B DAY 2: Saturday, Nov. 3 Please pray for continued travel safety and the health of the team as they arrive in Europe, transfer flights to Dnepropetrovsk, and reach their destination of Zaporizhzhia in the afternoon. Pray that God will prepare the hearts of those in Ukraine to hear what He will reveal to them during the week. Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established. - PROVERBS 16:3 DAY 3: Sunday, Nov. 4 Join the team in prayer over breakfast, as they prepare for their work in Zaporizhzhia. Pray for Pastor Wes as he preaches at the Church today. In the afternoon the team will be participating in games and activities with the kids. Pray that God will prepare the hearts of our team to be flexible and obedient to whatever He asks. The Lord watches over the sojourners; he upholds the widow and the fatherless, but the way of the wicked he brings to ruin. - PSALM 146:9 DAY 4: Monday, Nov. 5 Pray for safe travels as the team leaves for Guliopole and for the lunch they will share with the Mel’s House graduates. Pray for the afternoon as the team shares in activities with the Guliopole orphange. For my father and my mother have forsaken me, but the Lord will take me in. - PSALM 27:10

DAY 5: Tuesday, Nov. 6 Pray for the encounters that the team will continue to have with the children back in Zaporizhzhia. Please pray that the teens will experience God’s love

and the joy of belonging to a family of faith. Pray for the intentionality of the team, no matter where they are, that they would be sensitive to the voice of the Lord and be bold for Christ. “I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. Yet a little while and the world will see me no more, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you.” – JOHN 14:18-20 DAY 6: Wednesday, Nov. 7 Join the team in prayer as the girls and guys split up to spend time with the kids. Join those in prayer that are participating in a prayer walk and/ or playing soccer in the park. Pray for house parents Tonia and Vova as they spend time together alone — for renewed strength and a time to build their relationship — while the team stays with the children and cooks an American dinner for them. Father of the fatherless and protector of widows is God in his holy habitation. God settles the solitary in a home; he leads out the prisoners to prosperity. - PSALM 68:5-6 DAY 7: Thursday, Nov. 8 Pray for morning games with the children, preparation of the garden for winter and for the farewells to the kids and house parents. Pray that the team has been an encouragement to the believers there. Please pray for safe travels as the team takes a train to the capital city of Kiev. By wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established; by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches. - PROVERBS 24:3-4 DAY 8: Friday, Nov. 9 Pray for the team debrief time. Pray that the team will reflect on all God has shown them and how to apply what they’ve learned to their daily lives. The team will spend the day sightseeing and learn more about the culture of Ukraine before preparing to head home tomorrow. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.” – MATTHEW 9:37-38 DAY 9: Saturday, Nov. 10 Pray for safety and traveling mercies for the team as they take an early morning flight from Kiev, transfer in Europe, and arrive in Richmond this evening. Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples! - PSALM 96:3
