PROGRAM ASSOCIATE, NEW YORK SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM New York, NY – Full Time About the Company: The Armenian General Benevolent Union was established in 1906 and is the world’s largest non-profit organization devoted to preserving and promoting the Armenian identity and heritage through educational, cultural, and humanitarian programs. AGBU currently has a presence in 31 countries, annually touching the lives of some 500,000 Armenians worldwide. Job Description: The Program Associate of the New York Summer Internship Program (NYSIP) is responsible for the management, implementation, and further improvement of the one of AGBU’s flagship programs. NYSIP, launched in 1987, offers young Armenians a valuable working experience through internships in their chosen fields. Interns from across the globe are placed at some of New York City’s top firms and participate in a supplemental curriculum of workshops, networking events, and cultural activities designed to enhance their career development. The 8-week program runs in late June through early August of each year and participants live together in graduate school housing. The Program Associate works closely with both the program interns and internship supervisors and reports directly to the Director of Central Board Programs. *The Program Associate is expected to live with the interns and NYSIP Activities Coordinator(s) on campus during the 8-week duration of the program. Responsibilities: Program Management and Implementation (September through June) • Process and evaluate program applications and prepare files for review by NYSIP Advisory Committee • Manage execution of admissions notifications, including handling of wait list, financial aid applications, enrollment fees and rejection notices • Provide guidance to accepted participants with regard to resume presentation and interview process • Match interns with suitable placements and monitor the internships throughout the summer • Secure housing for program participants and coordinate the interns’ arrivals and departures • Organize and run intern orientation sessions and key events for interns during the summer • Hire and supervise the work of NYSIP’s Activities Coordinator(s) who assist the Program Associate during the summer • Develop a calendar of extra-curricular activities including training sessions, arranging guest speakers and social activities, including the annual Supervisors’ Reception • Work with the NYSIP Committee and prepare board reports as needed • Collect data from participants and supervisors for analysis, evaluation and program improvements • Maintain the NYSIP website and update the application form annually • Perform other assigned job-related duties • Implement lessons learned Relationship Management • Maintain relationships with participating organizations and internship supervisors, AGBU Young Professionals mentors and internship alumni • Identify prospective companies and continuously seek new business contacts (Continued) Ideal candidate must demonstrate core AGBU values: Trust, Teamwork, Service and Respect for Diversity. Develop strong relationships with new internship supervisors Serve as a liaison between interns and supervisors ensuring that both parties are cognizant of the program parameters and expectations

Alumni and Fundraising • Work with the Development and Outreach Office to develop an annual plan for NYSIP fundraising and alumni activities • Coordinate alumni activities including a NYSIP e-newsletter, events, and other alumni communications and help identify opportunities to engage alumni as guest speakers, supervisors, and volunteers • Coordinate fundraising activities including preparing fundraising letters and e-solicitations • Use social media to connect with alumni through NYSIP Facebook and AGBU LinkedIn • Ensure ongoing maintenance of NYSIP alumni contact information in AGBU’s database Marketing • Work with the Communications Department for designing and implementing recruitment collateral • Manage the development and distribution of promotional print and electronic materials such as e-newsletters, brochures, and press releases • Assist the Communications Department in promoting the program through the press and various social media outlets • Update and refresh content on NYSIP website and social media tools

Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree; Bachelor’s degree in Business Management a plus • Minimum of three years of related experience • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills • Ability to work collaboratively with all constituencies, including NYSIP Committee, board members, volunteers, donors, staff, program participants and other key audiences • Ability to research and familiarize with job market trends, employers, and industry leaders • Ability to build and maintain relationships, show maturity, pay strong attention to detail, and multi-task • Capable of working independently • Familiarity with the Armenian community is a plus • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook • United States citizenship or residency required
