PROGRAM OF WORK 2013 VISION STATEMENT We will be the premier chamber that drives business success for our members and community. MISSION STATEMENT Through advocacy, alliances, economic development, and education, we drive business success for our members and community to advance economic prosperity. CORE VALUES Collaboration, Innovation, Integrity, Inclusiveness, Excellence, Leadership, Service STRATEGIC PRIORITIES 2011 - 2015 Drive Business Success The RCC will be a catalyst for economic development to foster a continually growing, diverse and vibrant Richardson business community. Provide Tangible Value The RCC will provide programs, products and services that create value for its members and the community. Foster Member Engagement The RCC will attract, grow and retain membership through a broad range of engagement opportunities. Build Marketing and Brand Awareness The RCC will build awareness through communication, marketing and brand strategies to enhance visibility of Chamber services and value to its members and the community. Advocate Public Policy The RCC will advocate legislative public policy priorities at the local, regional, state and federal level to support the Richardson business environment. Lead Technology Growth The RCC will enhance the growth of the high technology industry throughout North Texas through its affiliate the Metroplex Technology Business Council. Ensure Financial Stewardship The RCC will build and sustain a foundation of prudent financial stewardship to support the vision, mission and goals of the Chamber. This priority is fundamental to all other priorities and is considered the foundation priority.

Drive Business Success

The Chamber will proactively create business opportunities for relocating and expanding companies with the redevelopment of Richardson's large inventory of vacant flex space, particularly in the East Arapaho/Collins study area, with the goal of reducing the current vacancy rate of 20% by half in 5 years. Provide Tangible Value

The Chamber will enhance the value of Chamber membership by launching an ongoing marketing campaign that encourages the referral of members to other members facilitated by the Chamber. Foster Member Engagement

The Chamber will develop relevant member engagement opportunities that will retain at least 85% of Chamber members and increase net membership by 10% in 2013 Build Marketing and Brand Awareness

The Chamber will develop a relationship marketing strategy with members and prospective members and encourage them to act as RCC proponents to expand the pool of prospects. The longterm goal is to strengthen the RCC community and increase the chamber’s market penetration by the end of 2015 to 40%. Advocate Public Policy

The Chamber will engage membership in the Texas 83rd Legislature process by;  Increasing Legislative Day attendance by Chamber business members by 50% over 2011 attendance.  Providing a semimonthly membership update during session on legislative issues and actions relevant to the Chamber's 2013 Legislative Agenda. Lead Technology Growth

The Chamber will work with the City to develop and implement a new technology entrepreneur support strategy in 2013 that builds upon our investment in StarTech and UT Dallas, and positions Richardson as the hub in the region for start-ups and growing emerging technology companies. Ensure Financial Stewardship

The Chamber will complete the Capital Campaign feasibility assessment by the end of third quarter of 2013 and make a go-no go decision by the end of 2013.

Create a forum to bring together companies active in the Richardson commercial real estate market. 2. Utilize the expertise and experience in the Broker & Developer Committee to advance the Chamber’s overall 2013 goal to “Drive Business Success” by helping redevelop or repurpose Richardson’s large inventory of vacant flex space. 3. Encourage non-Member commercial real estate companies to join the Richardson Chamber. Growth & Mobility Tri-Chairs Erik Wyse, WealthStar Advisors Martin Molloy, Halff Associates, Inc. Angela Lopez, BB&T Bank Staff Liaison John Jacobs, Jenny Mizutowicz Purpose: The purpose of the Growth & Mobility committee is to provide RCC Members with the latest information involving economic development and transportation affecting the Richardson area (Create tangible value), and to promote greater awareness of economic development and transportation issues affecting the Richardson area. 2013 Goals: 1. Provide RCC Members with the latest information involving economic development and transportation affecting the Richardson area. Create tangible value by providing attendees the opportunity to perform a brief “commercial” about their business and valuable information about new businesses in the community. 2. Promote greater awareness of economic development and transportation issues affecting the Richardson area. 3. Monitor and take proactive actions when appropriate on the Cotton Belt cross-town commuter rail project. 4. Facilitate customer and supplier business relationships among Chamber members, particularly international companies, in support of the Chamber’s “Drive Business Success” goal of leveraging our international efforts to build membership.

Human Resources Tri-Chairs Larry Ercoline, TriQuint Jolene Hersch, ARGO Data Jeannette Davis, Stratmark Staff Liaison John Jacobs, Jenny Mizutowicz Purpose: The purpose of the Human Resources (HR) Committee is to provide Richardson Chamber of Commerce members’ HR professionals a resource for areas of shared interest such as community updates, recruitment, retention, non-profit involvement, compliance, etc. 2013 Goals: 1. Create a quarterly forum for HR professionals to exchange ideas, counsel, resources, and strategies with their peers. 2. Provide HR professionals with the latest information regarding community updates, new companies and HR-related programs. 3. Host speakers on key topics of interest for HR professionals (compliance, benefits, retention, etc…). 4. Generate leads for member companies by matching HR professionals with the resources they need. Each Ambassador to meet with at least 10 existing or potential members. 2. Strive to meet 85% retention rate. 3. Connections Tri-Chairs Bill Schaid, Kiwanis Club of Richardson Molly Mann, Gardens of Richardson John Mc Faddin, Courtesy Nissan of Richardson Staff Liaison: Drew Snow, Purpose: PM Connections is an after-hours networking event designed to promote business, referrals and lead-generation between RCC members while striving to drive value to the event host. 2013 Goals: 1. Increase attendance by 20%. 2. Drive additional value back to event host. 3. Increase mingling of attendees and increase business referrals among members. Richardson Young Professionals Tri-Chairs Eric Peltier, Legacy Texas Bank Karen Springs, Farmers Insurance Staff Liaison Drew Snow Purpose: Richardson Young Professionals purpose is to be a leading network of emerging leaders dedicated to building collaborative partnerships, fostering opportunities for individual growth and business development. 2013 Goals: 1. To maintain self-sufficient budget for RYP for 2013 2. One key membership event on the calendar monthly 3. Increase RYP visibility among other chamber committees and the general business community 4. Increase membership in the 20-30 yo age range 5. Increase the annual attendance by 10% over 2012. 2. Coordinate efficiently with other chamber groups on event and topics. 3. Plan and produce events that are fun, entertaining and unique to our audiences by inviting music groups to perform and artists to display their works. 4. Plan the luncheon events one year in advance to obtain luminary speakers. Women in Leadership Tri-Chairs Susan Kassen, Ebby Halliday Courtenay Tanner, 4 Women Shopping Elizabeth Hart, RISD Excellence in Education Foundation Staff Liaisons Paul Bendel, Paula Addison Purpose: The purpose of Women in Leadership is to inspire, influence and champion powerful women through advocacy, mentoring and networking. 2013 Goals: 1. Women in Leadership will impact the community by providing quality membership engagement and benefits to its members. 2. WIL will provide quality programs throughout the year that engages leadership of WIL’s target market of small, medium, and large corporations. 3. Build community awareness of WIL. 4. Financial accountability will be a hallmark of WIL.

Organize the tournament structure and format by end of first quarter of 2013. 2. Increase net revenue to Chamber by 25% 3. Review opportunities for improving tournament experience at Sherrill Park. 4. Create a marketing plan to showcase the tournament,Sherrill Park and to entice both previous sponsors and potential new sponsors. 5. Structure the RCC Golf committee to achieve goals set forth with seamless operation: BUDGET & FINANCE DIVISION Vice Chairman Mary Bedosky, ViewPoint Bank Budget & Finance Committee Chairman Mary Bedosky Staff Liaisons Bill Sproull, Diana Gorman Purpose: To provide oversight and responsibility for the budgetary and financial condition of the Chamber. 2013 Goals: 1. Continue working towards a yearly balanced budget 2. Prepare the monthly B&F presentation to the Board on a timely basis 3. Finish the assessment of “Capital Campaign” and establish initial plan and goals to achieve. 4. Study the costs to on-board new members and recommend any changes in dues/fee structure. 5. Serve as the audit committee for the 2012 audit. NOMINATING AND GOVERNANCE COMMITTEE Chair Ron Taylor, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas Staff Liaison Bill Sproull Purpose: To identify qualified leaders for the elected and advisory members of the Chamber Board of Directors and special committees/task forces and to provide oversight on governance concerns. 2013 Goals 1. Promote the Chamber to qualified leaders in the business community to encourage interest in serving on the Board of Directors. 2. Recommend a slate of candidates to the Board for the general election in the 3rd quarter of the year 3. Recommend qualified candidates to the Board for appointment to vacated board positions as required 4. Periodically review governance related items and concerns and assure that board member governance requirements are met in accordance with bylaws and organizational policies.
