HOST A STUDENT FROM SPAIN IN THE SUMMER FROM JUNE 29TH TILL JULY 26TH Ready to have extended family in Europe? Hosting a student from “Speak and Travel “means opening your home and hearts to a teen from Spain. A typical Spaniard is courteous, enthusiastic, spontaneous, and sociable. All our students are from Asturias, a region located in the North Coast of Spain, and they have been carefully screened before their acceptance. Give your own children the opportunity to have “siblings” in Europe that they can visit in the future. Students travel with their own medical Health Insurance, have a good level of English, and they are accompanied by a bilingual tour leader who is on call 24/7 during the entire stay in case of an emergency.

The program includes a two-day tour to the city of Atlanta, very well known in Europe since the celebration of the Olympic Games. Atlanta offers an incredible visit to the modern America, with its wonderful skylight.
The Program includes a two-day tour to Myrtle Beach. They will be able to spend some time at the beach, and around the hotel resort.
The first day in Atlanta, students will be taken to “Six Flags” over Georgia, where they will stay all day. The next day, students will visit the downtown area. A visit to World of Coca Cola, CNN, and Centennial Olympic Park are included in the tour.
They will enjoy a themed dinner at the Hard Rock Café Restaurant. There will also be some time for shopping in the outlet malls. If the host family has other plans with the student during the travelling dates, students will stay with the host family, and will not travel with the group
WHY HOST A SUMMER STUDENT? Your kids and all the family members will experience the differences in the way people live and interact. Every day of the month will be full of emotions and new discoveries. This is the best way to expose your kids to another language, culture, and the world “out there”, from the comfort of your own home. Your family, all the sudden, will have extended family in Europe. This is the third year for these students in SC and GA, and some of our host families have already traveled to Spain to visit them. You will create a bond with a teen that could last forever. It is an amazing opportunity for the whole family!!
WHAT IS EXPECTED OF HOST FAMILIES A representative from Speak and Travel will stay in the US during their stay, and families can contact her at any time, if any issues arise. As a host family, we will only ask you to: ·Provide the students with a bed and space to store their clothes. The students may not share a bed, but they may share a room with a host sibling of the same gender. ·Provide breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks for the students. ·Do not leave students alone for too long during the day. We understand that the family may be at work during the day. If that is the case, try to have things for the student to do with other people: siblings, neighbors, they can join camps.. They will be open to do anything to fill their time!. ·Make arrangements for them as you would make for your own kids, no more than that. Doing too many things for them or with them would put too much pressure on you and your family. You all have to enjoy every minute of it! Students onl y expect to be part of your family.
