This program services the youth who attend the Chickasaw Youth Clubs (CYC). The primary focus is to build confidence, self‑esteem and promote character development along with sparking an enthusiasm for physical activity, health and exercise. In addition to general physical education classes, many activities are offered to the CYC members. These activities include Players in Progress (PIP), dance, martial arts, tumbling, etc. To participate in the Health and Fitness program, the child must be a member of the CYC.

JR. FIRST LEGO LEAGUE (JR. FLL) is an exciting opportunity for Chickasaw students six‑8 years of age. Junior FIRST LEGO League teaches the benefits of teamwork, sparks an interest in science and technology and introduces basic design skills through a hands‑on approach with the fun of LEGO building. FIRST LEGO LEAGUE (FLL) provides Chickasaw students, ages 9‑14, with an exciting experience in a global robotics program that ignites an enthusiasm for discovery, science and technology. Students research and solve real‑world problems based on the challenge theme, present research and solutions and build an autonomous robot using engineering concepts. FIRST TECH CHALLENGE (FTC) is beginning‑level robotics training for high school students. Students discover the interesting and rewarding life of engineers and researchers. The competition challenges teams of students and mentors to solve a common problem by designing and building a robot using a standard kit of parts and a common set of rules. To compete, students must focus on design, demonstrate team spirit, professionalism and maturity and the ability to overcome obstacles. For required forms and program information, visit Chickasaw.net/STM. Deadline to apply is August 31. FIRST ROBOTICS COMPETITION (FRC) allows students to build on skills learned as an FTC participant. Operating under strict guidelines, limited resources and a short build period, FRC teams are challenged to design a team “brand,” hone teamwork skills and build and program a 120‑pound robot to perform prescribed tasks against a field of competitors. Team mentors share their skills and talents to guide each team. To compete, students must focus on design, demonstrate team spirit, professionalism and maturity and the ability to overcome obstacles. CHICKASAW NATION AVIATION & SPACE ACADEMY (CNASA) is a weeklong academy for Chickasaw students interested in space, aviation, math and science. The CNASA SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM provides Chickasaw students across the country with an opportunity to participate in the Chickasaw Nation Aviation & Space Academy. A committee will evaluate and rank completed applications to determine scholarship recipients. CNASA scholarships will cover the cost of round‑trip airfare or mileage, lodging and meals. BURIAL SUPPLEMENT ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
The burial supplement assistance program is for Chickasaw citizens, regardless of age or place of residence. The Chickasaw Nation will pay up to $2,500, directly to the funeral home, toward the final balance of a Chickasaw citizen's burial expenses. The Chickasaw Nation Headquarters Gym is a state‑of‑the‑art basketball facility available for rent to Chickasaw citizens for tournaments and practices. The disability program will provide services to Chickasaw citizens who have a disability as defined in Section 223 of the Social Security Act; and has a development disability as defined in Section 102 of the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act.

This program provides assistance to Chickasaw citizens who have an urgent, unmet need for assistance with gas, water, propane, electric bills and/or deposits.

The 72‑HOUR PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION provides photographers an opportunity to participate in the three‑category competition. Photographers are given a one word theme and have 72 hours to take photos and submit their unedited interpretation of the given theme. ACTING WORKSHOPS are presented in the areas of acting on stage, acting for the camera, musical theatre, how to write a résumé and take a head shot. The AFTER SCHOOL ARTS PROGRAM (ASAP) provides participants with an opportunity to explore artistic processes and create original work for four consecutive weeks at various times throughout the school year. The CHOKMA'SI GALLERY hosts and facilitates art exhibits and competitions. The gallery also features a retail space with Native American art, jewelry, pottery, prints and more for sale. DIGITAL STORYTELLING is the practice of combining narrative with digital content, including images, sound and video, to create a short movie, typically within a strong emotional component. This program seeks traditional stories or stories about the old ways. Both youth and adults can participate. The IMANOLI WRITER’S CONFERENCE is designed for writers looking to enhance their writing skills. Professionals from diverse fields of writing share their knowledge about the different aspects of the writing process, writing styles and publishing. Conference is free and open to the public. The conference takes place on the first Thursday in June. The MUSICAL TOUR offers a tour to various locations within the Chickasaw Nation boundaries of the season’s musical. Once per year, a large‑scale musical will be produced and performed at predetermined venues. This is a chance to give citizens and opportunity to be involved with or experience art through live performance. PERFORMING ARTS ENRICHMENT CLASSES offer various performing arts disciplines such as: auditioning, headshot résumé, acting, technical theatre, stage makeup, etc. The RECORDING BOOTH/STUDIO offers recording services in the small recording booth in the arts & humanities building. Recordings can include voice recordings or music recordings. The TEEN MUSICAL THEATRE WORKSHOP program provides opportunities for teens, from the ages of 8‑16, to be a part of the musical theatre workshop ending with a final performance. The WRITING TUTORING program is committed to all Chickasaw students’ educational success. By providing personalized writing tutoring, mentoring, research and reading resources, as well as workshops and seminars, the creative arts team (or program) helps students create and maintain skills, strategies and behavior of confident, independent and lifelong learning. The Chickasaw Nation Career Technology Program is available to part‑time and full‑time Chickasaw students attending a state or nationally accredited career technology center, online education institute, trade school or private training facility, whereby graduates receive a professional certification or license upon completion of their program. CAREER TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM (CTP) GRANT shall be based on the student’s program’s tuition and fee costs, with $6,000 being the maximum award amount per certification. An invoice or billing statement must be submitted to process any award amount. The student’s federal and/ or state financial aid award will be taken into consideration when processing the CTP Grant award amount. All students must submit a high school transcript, high school equivalency or college transcript. Eligibility is not dependent on completion or grade point average. CHICKASAW HUMANITIES STUDIES COURSES are offered at East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma and Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, Oklahoma with college credit awarded upon successful completion of each course. In the Clemente I course, students explore the rich and diverse culture, history, government, language and experience of the Chickasaws in comparison to Western culture. Clemente II is similar in focus, but compares and contrasts Chickasaw history and culture with various North American tribes. TRADITIONAL STORYTELLING shares our stories with audiences at schools, civic organizations, clubs and universities. Stories are shared through story concerts, such as Spooky Tales in October and Love Stories in February, as well as storytelling workshops. Storytelling can be integrated into the standard Oklahoma academic curriculum. CHICKASAW YOUTH HUMANITIES WORKSHOP will take elements of the Clemente Chickasaw Humanities university courses and tailor them to youth courses. The burial assistance program is for Native Americans residing within the Chickasaw Nation boundaries. The Chickasaw Nation will pay up to $2,500, directly to the funeral home, toward the final balance of a Chickasaw citizen's burial expenses. To apply, citizens must provide a Chickasaw citizenship card, social security card, death certificate, final funeral home statement and income, verification of deceased's address and verification of the deceased's household. This is an elder wellness program designed to get elders active and keep them active. Exercise classes take place regularly at Chickasaw Nation Senior Centers (see pages 39–40). The Chikasha House provides families or caregivers of patients admitted to the Chickasaw Nation Medical Center (CNMC) a convenient and relaxing “home away from home” lodging facility. There are two guest houses, each one containing four guest rooms. One guest room in each house is also handicap accessible. All rooms contain two full‑sized beds, a TV, refrigerator and private bathroom. In addition, both houses include a common kitchen and living area. Also available on site is a game room and outdoor playground, two serenity gardens, laundry facilities, a safe room and a state‑of‑the‑art security and surveillance system. • Signed referral by an authorized CNMC representative is required. • Guests must reside outside the immediate Ada area. • Accommodations are provided on a first come, first served basis. No reservations are accepted.

The Chickasaw Nation Summer Food Service Program partners with national and community organizations to provide nutritious meals to all children, regardless of racial heritage, between the ages of one and 18.
