Project

What is needed to see this vision become a reality? The cost to date for the completed phases of the Restoration Project is $3.5 million. This has all been done debt-free, completely paid for through the faithful giving of so many toward this church-shaping endeavor. There are remaining pledges for $500,000 to be given by the end of 2014 which will cover the initial expenses of plans, permits and preparatory repairs in the basement. To build and fully equip the 10,000 sq. ft. Student Underground will require an additional $1.1 million, which we hope to raise through the Generation Project over the next two years. Please prayerfully consider what role you will play in the story that God is authoring through Calvary Church as we seek to reach the generations to come for Jesus Christ. Already Committed

That the generation to come might know, even the children yet to be born, That they may arise and tell them to their children, That they should put their confidence in God And not forget the works of God, But keep His commandments PSALM 78:6,7

Where are we now on the Restoration Project and what’s next? We launched the Restoration Project in the Fall of 2010 and extended it through the end of 2014 in order to complete critical campus repairs and maximize our existing buildings by realigning the spaces to support our ministry vision.

We Envision a generation where: Students are knowledgeable about God’s Word, but even greater, through it have come to know God personally. They have investigated the Scriptures for themselves and have concluded that God’s Word is truth and are unashamed of it.

Project

Students know God’s voice, desire to obey it, and then obey it in and through the power of the Holy Spirit as they depend on Him alone for strength. Students worship from the inside out, compelled by the Spirit, not through mandated behavior, but see worship as a lifestyle, not a moment or event. Students possess a kingdom community mindset, and choose to usher in the realities of justice, mercy, love, the presence of God, forgiveness, humility, and service to life in everyday situations. Students live with a global awareness and feel responsible for their brothers and sisters around the world and feel compelled to make Christ known to every corner of the globe within their lifetime. By developing these traits in our students, the result is a vibrant life in Jesus. This is our heart for this generation, and for generations to come at Calvary. Movement is already happening in Family Ministries to lay the foundational work of seeing this vision lived out. We are committed to a unified approach to spiritual formation from crib to college based upon a united philosophy of ministry. God’s design for faith replication is in the context of the family (Deuteronomy 6; Psalm 78) while the church plays a supportive and equipping role to this endeavor (Ephesians 4:12). Together we want to create environments where the Holy Spirit is free to move, teach, and lead (John 14:26). The next phase for us is to create physical venues for our students where this ministry can take place. This time of their development is crucial. It is a time when many of life’s most important decisions are made. We want to invest in the next generation so that as they are journeying through this pivotal time of life, they have are rooted in a community of love and support that is walking with them as they are walking with Jesus.

It has been a blessing to see the remodeled spaces from the finished phases of the Restoration Project being used now including: The new space created within the Worship Center, which has allowed young families to enjoy the new Nursery and our staff to work together in the new church ministry offices upstairs. The Samsvick Chapel renovation, which has provided a beautiful venue on our campus for worship services, weddings, memorials, school chapels, Bible studies and special events. We praise God for these updated places for ministry to happen here at Calvary. And we are now continuing to move forward on the final phase of the Restoration Project by creating a home for Student Ministries. We have designs for the Student Underground to be built where the former Nursery was in the C Building basement. After we finish the plan approval process with the city, we will evaluate our construction and timing schedule for 2015 depending on the commitments you make toward the Generation Project. We will not spend beyond what has been committed, so we invite your participation in helping us complete our goal of creating the Student Underground.
