❶ Galatians 5:16 says, “So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature.” How do we/you live by the Spirit?

❷ Galatians 5:13-15 says: “You, my brothers, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature; rather, serve one another in love. 14 The entire law is summed up in a single command: "Love your neighbor as yourself." 15 If you keep on biting and devouring each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other.” What does this freedom mean, and how is it experienced?

❸ Describe a specific time when you were not living “by the Spirit.” Describe a specific time when you were living “by the Spirit.”

❹ Does Scripture reflect on the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23) as the goal or the result of following Jesus? How does Scripture reflect that?

❺ How would you describe the connection between the Gospel and the church?
