Description CalSTRS’ is seeking to replace storage, in place, at both the main headquarters (100 Waterfront Place, West Sacramento, CA) and the disaster recovery site (4235 Forcum Ave, Sacramento, CA) with an HP 3Par storage solution. The solution being sought consists of two HP 3Par 10400’s with 185TB and 96TB of disk space, respectively.

The solution will consist of the appropriate software and licensing to provide for managing, reporting, and replication of the data between headquarters and the disaster recovery site.   Additionally, the solution will provide for the HP support to install the solution  and a five year HP Proactive24 support service for both the hardware and software involved.

Enterprise Storage Replacement and Support OFFER DUE DATE May 16, 2014, 3:00 p.m. PT INTRODUCTION The California State Teachers’ Retirement System (CalSTRS), with a portfolio valued at $180.8 billion, as of February 28, 2014, is the largest teacher pension fund in the United States. CalSTRS administers a hybrid retirement system, consisting of a traditional defined benefit, cash balance and defined contribution plan, including disability and survivor benefits. CalSTRS serves California’s 852,000 public school educators and their families from the state’s 1,600 school districts, county offices of education and community college districts. BACKGROUND CalSTRS Technology Services branch invites California Multiple Award Schedule (CMAS) contractors to submit an offer for Enterprise Storage Replacement and Support. CalSTRS’ is seeking to replace storage, in place, at both the main headquarters (100 Waterfront Place, West Sacramento, CA) and the disaster recovery site (4235 Forcum Ave, Sacramento, CA) with an HP 3Par storage solution. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS •

As of final submission date, the contractor must have a current CMAS contract that covers the HP 3Par hardware, HP 3Par software subscriptions and support listed in Attachment I.

STATEMENT OF WORK 1. Contract Description: Contractor's Name (hereinafter referred to as the "Contractor'') agrees to provide the California State Teachers’ Retirement System (CalSTRS), (hereinafter referred to as the "State" or "Licensee"), with the products and services listed below in items three (3), four (4) and six (6). 2. Equipment Site/Installation: The "Equipment Site" shall mean the California State Teachers’ Retirement System (CalSTRS), location as identified in this Agreement, which Licensee represents, is operated or controlled by Licensee. Licensee may change the Equipment Site to another location situated within the United States without incurring additional charges. a. California State Teachers’ Retirement System Headquarters Building 100 Waterfront Place West Sacramento, Ca 95605 b. California State Teachers’ Retirement System Disaster Recovery Site 4235 Forcum Avenue Sacramento, Ca 95838 3. Duties to be Performed: The Contractor will provide hardware, software and licensing, and professional services to install, configure and provide support on HP 3Par hardware and HP 3Par software. All hardware and parts provided by the Contractor shall be new and unused. Under the direction of CalSTRS’ Technology Services Branch network team, the services to be provided by the successful Proposer shall include the following tasks: a. Pre-Installation Activities: • Complete pre-install checklist • Verify suitable space for unpacking and installation • Verify power is adequate • Verify the required network connections and external cabling is complete • Verify the HP 3PAR Remote Support Strategy is identified b. Installation Activities: • Build of arrays / racking • Execution of scripts (OOTB, MOB) • Disk initialization • Sparing defined • Purchased licenses displayed

Reporting Suite Installation: o Review system reporter requirements o Verify that either one server or two virtual machines are ready o Verify software is installed o Verify database o Creation of user accounts o Access system reporter o Customer knowledge transfer session Dynamic Optimization Installation: o Verify Software is installed o Customer Knowledge Transfer Session Replication Suite Installation: o Provide an operational management station with IP connectivity to both source and target arrays. o Ensure that network requirements are met, including provisioning of physical Ethernet ports and subnets as required. o Verify sufficient bandwidth is provided to support the expected sustained and maximum I/O rates. o Provide customer with pre-delivery checklist. o Review the engagement with the customer using the pre-delivery checklist and verify that all service prerequisites have been met. o Configure dependent SAN switches to establish connectivity between 3PAR arrays, as needed. o Configure Remote Copy connectivity on source and target arrays and establish Remote Copy functionality between the arrays for a single source-target relationship. o Create a sample Remote Copy group compatible with the customers' array configuration. o Work with customer to identify volumes associated with the customer's chosen application. o Perform product configuration of Remote Copy groups using one customer designated application. o Test to verify Remote Copy operational status, including replication, failover and failback, using sample copy group, and switching from a primary to alternate management server. o Demonstration of secondary site becoming primary for the sample group after a line failure. o Demonstration of role reversal of primary and secondary sites for the sample group with resync after simulated failback. o Customer Knowledge Transfer Session.

4. Warranty/Software Support: Warranty/Software Support includes: corrections, updates and new product releases. Equipment updates and technical support are available 24/7 via phone support and/or email/web access. Contractor must honor and provide (5) years of guarantees, warranties, and maintenance services for all hardware, software and firmware as part of and with the term 5/2/2014 5:01 PM

of this agreement from the date of acceptance. 5. Term: The agreement resulting from this purchase will have a term of (5) years from date of acceptance. 6. Equipment(s)/Good(s): See Attachment I.

The Agreement, if awarded, shall be awarded to the lowest, responsive and responsible contractor. CalSTRS reserves the right to award an Agreement in whole, or in part, for the items/quantities requested in this RFO and listed in the Product Description. All documents submitted in response to this RFO will become the property of the State of California and may be subject to review by, or release to, the public under the California Public Records Act, Government Code 6250 et seq.
