Register for and take the New Mexico Associate Broker Licensing Exam You must pass both the state and national portions of the exam with a minimum score of 75. Applicants must pay a non-refundable fee not to exceed $95.

Complete your fingerprinting and obtain Errors and Omissions Insurance All persons applying for a New Mexico real estate license must submit to the commission, along with their application, proof that they have completed a live fingerprint scan and obtain Errors and Omissions Insurance. You must register at www.cogentid.com before you complete the live fingerprint scan for matching with a national arrest record database. You may find a full list of Fingerprint Source List for New Mexico Residents on the commission’s website, http:// www.rld.state.nm.us/boards/Real_ Estate_Commission_Requirements_and_ Continuing_Education.aspx. 4. Apply for your Associate Broker License Upon passing both portions of the exam, you have 6 months to apply for your Associate Broker’s License, or you will be required to take the exam again.

Obtain experience as an Associate Broker or Salesperson You must be actively engaged in the real estate field as an Associate Broker or Salesperson for at least 2 of the past 5 years immediately prior to filing your application. 2. Complete the required education If you didn’t complete the Broker Basics course in your initial education, you must complete before you submit your application. In addition, you must complete the Brokerage Office Administration course and pass only the New Mexico portion of the licensing exam with a minimum score of 75.
