Rebuild Our City: Removing Rubble By Brett Hilliard, May 10, 2020

1. The battle is real. 2. Our resources are enough a. Pr ayer “Hear us, our God” (Nehemiah 4:4) b. Pr omise “Remember the Lord” (Nehemiah 4:14) c. Per spective “fight for your families” (Nehemiah 4:14) d. Per sistence “the people worked with all their heart” (Nehemiah 4:6)

3. Balance is vital. 4. Boldness is yours. REFLECTION QUESTIONS 1. “There is so much rubble that we cannot rebuild the wall” (Nehemiah 4:10) What rubble is in your life right now that prevents a new, stronger, rebuilt life? (habits, belongings, relationships, thought patterns, etc.) 2. The Lord of Hosts is a title best understood as Commander in Chief. Our God is over all the invisible forces of this world. What battles are you facing that need to allow the Lord of Hosts to fight? 3. “Our God will fight for us. So we continued the work..” (Nehemiah 4:20-21). All of us tend to be imbalanced, either being overly spiritual (God will do it!) or spiritually passive (It all depends on me!). Nehemiah shows a great balance. Where would you place yourself on this continuum?
