REENGAGE Acts 5:17-21 SUMMARY... In this series 5R, we are exploring 5 keywords that God uses to help us close the gap between what we believe about God and how that belief shapes the way we live. So far, we learned that ● God REMINDS us that He knows where we are and wants us to see Him; ● He will REVEAL the things that cause our gaps; ● Jesus offers a REST for our souls, even when walking through hardship; and ● Our RELATIONSHIPS with one another help us experience friendship with God, specifically when they help us to repent and remember the purposes of God. In this final session of the 5R series, we take a look at "REENGAGE." That is, if we want to close the gap between knowing who God is and how that shapes our lives, then we need to reengage with the mission to help all people walk with God. A FEW QUESTIONS TO CONSIDER... 1. If the mission of God is for his followers to share the gospel and make disciples, where do you stand in terms of engagement with that mission? How has losing the Sunday gathering affected your ability to engage in mission? Do you feel dis-engaged? Uninterested? Ill-equipped? Aware of your purpose? Excited to help people see God?

2. Read Acts 5:17-21. What is the significance of the apostles being put in public prison and then being sent back to the temple? What does it look like to live on mission publicly now? Note: to see what happens next to the apostles, continue reading verses 22-42.

3. What makes engaging in mission so challenging for you? What are some intentional, creative ways to reengage the mission?

4. Read Acts 6:4. Why was time spent in the Word and prayer so important for the early church? Why is it still important today?

5. How have you engaged in mission differently in the last 8-10 weeks than before society shut down during the pandemic?
