Remoji: Lesson 1 – Sept 8/9 Group Time Guide: 4-5th Grade

Group Time Guide Supplies Needed: Conversation starter dice.

1. Getting Started Tell kids to meet someone new, and talk about this question: What do you definitely not want to be when you grow up?

2. Discussion Questions • • • •

What are some of the things Gabby felt in The Source? Have you ever felt like others didn’t understand you? What happened? What do you think Gabby should do? Are there ways you’d like to make a difference in your school?

3. Hands-On Option Look Up and Read: Hebrews 4:15. This says Jesus understands what we’re going through! Do This: Take out a conversation starter dice, and roll them. Then, answer the question facing up! You can pass the dice around the circle and have people answer different questions, or you can talk as a group about one question at a time. Talk About: When we are feeling a certain way, one of the best things to do is share it with someone else. When we feel happy, it’s fun to share! When we feel sad, talking about it with someone can help us feel better. No matter how we feel, Jesus understands, and is a great person to share it with.

4. Wrap-Up and Prayer Ask: What was the best part of your week? What was something tough that happened this week? Do This: Pray with the kids. If they’ve mentioned things that would be good to talk to God about, you can talk about them in your prayer.
