Out of the darkness of grief and despair comes a message of hope. Christ is risen. Christ is risen, indeed. We run to the tomb to see for ourselves. And it is true. Christ is risen. Christ is risen, indeed. We hear a voice call our name, and we know our risen Lord is with us now and always. Christ is risen. Christ is risen, indeed. Thanks be to God.

The Resurrection from ”The Story” Chapter 27

The Rev. Karla Shaw

Prayer of Confession (in unison) O God, hear our prayer this Easter morning: Deliver us from the fear of death; And make us know that death is not the end but the beginning of life, not the twilight but the dawn, not the midnight but the breaking day. Grant us the certainty that beyond death there is a life, where the broken things are mended, and the lost things found; Where there is rest for the weary, and joy for the sad; Where all we have hoped and willed of good shall exist; Where the dream will come true, and the ideal will be realized; Where we shall be forever with our Lord. So grant us the Easter certainty that life is stronger than death, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. from William Barclay, “Prayers for the Christian Year”

Pointing Ahead at Easter Welcome to worship, friends! We revel with Christians the world round today for the grand event of our Christian faith, that “Christ is Risen! He is Risen Indeed!” We’re glad to see you today. As we delight in the multiple generations of God’s people here at PLCPC, we also remember that “Cloud of Witnesses” in Heaven whom many have memorialized with flowers today. They are cheering us on in our own “race of faith set before us, looking to Jesus, the Pioneer and Perfecter of our faith.” This is that testimony of Hebrews 12, who for the ‘joy set before Him,’ kept on leading the way! God bless you and yours, as we continue here, for Christ and His Kingdom, Pastor John
