RFP 14-04 UNIFIED COMMUNICATIONS UPGRADE Purchasing Dept Bids Open

Description:

The City of League City currently has a Call Manager subscriber connected to a Publisher run and owned by Galveston County. The county has announced that they will be moving to CUCM 9.x early in 2014. City of League City desires to move to the latest releases of Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) 9.x and Cisco Unified Connection (CUC) 9.x, however the City’s hardware is not compatible with an upgrade to the current software version. The City has elected to upgrade our hardware to support CUCM 9x and to separate from the County’s system and return to an independent installation of CUCM and Unity. Our Unity system is currently independent and not tied to the County’s Unity system. This project will involve the purchase, installation and configuration of the equipment on the attached bill of materials. It will also involve working with the County and Cisco to separate product and phone licenses that were co-mingled when the City entered into the inter-local agreement with the County for the phone system. The City anticipates that this project will:        

Move to current supported platform of Unified Communications Manager Move to Linux-based appliance to increase stability and decrease support time required for patching and maintaining systems Move to a Virtualized Unified Communications solution Greater expansion and redundancy of the overall solution Have minimal impact to users Have minimal impact to system integrity Will adhere to Cisco best practice methodologies for performing upgrades on Communications Manager environment Will migrate to Cisco “UC on UCS” architecture which enables server virtualization for UC applications

The City has developed with Cisco pre-sales to develop the attached bill of materials for this project and believe that this equipment is necessary to accomplish this project.
