Roseville Lutheran Church Position Description Position: RLNS Preschool Teacher Reports to: RLNS Director Status:​ ​Part-Time, exempt, salary contract August 2018-June 2019 Approximately 20-25 hrs/week. Date:​ 7/19/2018 The RLNS preschool program is a wonderful outreach ministry both to our church families and the surrounding communities. We offer a developmental curriculum of classes for children ages three, four and five years old. Classes are held two or three days per week depending on the age of the child. All children within our community are welcome into our program. RLNS strives to maintain a welcoming and nurturing Christian and developmentally-appropriate environment for children of all backgrounds and abilities.

Duties and Responsibilities ● ∙ ∙ ∙ ∙

Develop and maintain high standards of teaching instruction and care

Exhibit God’s love for each student Plan and implement a developmentally appropriate classroom curriculum and activities Attend staff meetings and training programs Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom that is inviting to children ∙ Maintain a high level of professionalism, respect and compassion for all students, parents and employees

● Maintain a current license to teach. ∙ Foster channels of effective communication with parents though bulletin boards, newsletters, and parent conferences when appropriate ∙ Be confidential at all times ∙ Supervise teacher aids and volunteers

Qualifications Education ∙ Possess Early Childhood Education degree or equivalent experience Knowledge, skills and abilities ∙ Demonstrate knowledge of appropriate educational practices and developmental needs of preschool-aged children ∙ Ability to interact effectively with children and adults through written and oral communication ∙ Organized and detail oriented ∙ Compassionate, especially toward children ∙ Proven commitment to establishing respectful relationships with parents and coworkers ∙ Proficient in Microsoft Office ∙ Must be able to stand for the duration of the school day ∙ Must be able to bend and stoop often ∙ First-aid & CPR certified
