Estates of Russell Creek ERC Crime Watch Crime in the neighborhood and Plano overall has been pretty low. At the recent Crime Watch meeting, the Chief of Police said that major crime in Plano is down 1.4% and at the lowest rate in 10 years. Plano has the second lowest crime rate of any city in Texas with a population over 100,000. This summer we had very little vandalism of HOA property. This is great news. Now for the bad news. The Police department is decreasing its staff. Budgets have been cut. Response times are slower. The economy is bad. The unemployment rate is at the highest level in decades. The holidays are coming. The Police expect crime to increase. The Police department has 2 new web-sites to help citizens. The first is CrimeReports.com. This site will allow citizens the ability to look at crimes reported for a specific area. You can do just our neighborhood or a radius from your house. Either way, you can look at crime as it relates to you. ERC is one of the lowest crime rate areas in all of Plano. CrimeReports.com should be a great way to show prospective home buyers that this is the place to live. The other new web-site is OffenderWatch.com. This site uses the same data as the other sex offender sites, but this site will allow you to register for e-mail alerts if a sex offender moves into your area. In the past, it was up to individuals to find the information. This site also allows you to specify an area or radius from your home.

The Plano Police department is doing a great job of supplying us with the tools we need to keep our neighborhood and families safe. All of this technology is useless without data. The Police department encourages everyone to call them first and immediately to report all crimes and suspicious behavior. The number of stories and reasons for not reporting crimes or suspicious behavior are abundant. Some are embarrassed. Others feel that the crime was small and the police would not care. They even told stories about people who called the police hours later because they had to call their spouse first. Others weren’t sure they wanted to get involved for fear of retaliation. Others weren’t sure of how to call the police. The police are here to protect and serve. You can always call 911 or if you want to call them directly the number is 972-424-5678. Either way, all calls are routed to the same call center when you say you want to report a crime or suspicious behavior. They care about any and all crimes. Suspicious behavior reports help them put pieces of the puzzle together. The more information they have, the more likely they are to catch the people responsible and stop future crimes from occurring. Let’s keep crime low in the neighborhood and Plano. Call the police first and immediately every time, no matter how small or unsure you are. Happy Holidays. Doug Finn

Estates of Russell Creek Fall Festival Review

WOW! What an event. We have heard nothing but great things about the annual Fall Festival from ERC residents. It was so wonderful to all get together with our families to celebrate our fine community. Kudos to all of the ERC residents who dedicated their time to help my husband Dave and I make the Fall Festival such a huge success. We would like to personally thank Erin Longley, Brian Reitz, Denise Duggan, Lisa Heins, Jennifer Steinbrenner, Connie Prill, Kristy Kerpta, Kaitlyn Buchta, Katie Dietz, Alex Ikeda, Lindsey Arena, Hailey Braden and Nolan Denny, and anyone else that pitched in and helped without our knowledge. All of you made the festival possible by giving us your time and efforts. I sincerely appreciate those of you who said that you could volunteer for only one hour and then worked more. Your dedication to our children and to our neighborhood is honorable and will not be forgotten. Lisa Oldani

We Challenge What You Pay For Electricity! Estates of Russell Creek If SparkPowerBank isn’t your current electricity provider…chances are you're paying too much!

www.sparkpowerbank.com I’m Texas Energy Analyst Alan Lammey. Maybe you’ve heard me on the radio talking about the market forces that drive energy prices. I’m here to tell you that you’re not stuck paying those high prices to big electric companies anymore! Stop it. Some electric companies talk about “Simple” rate plans – that just means it costs you more! Others brag that they’ll “Send you a Rebate” – that just means you’re already paying too much!!

Come to the Power Bank – www.SparkPowerBank.com Why pay more than you have to? Those days are over! Why would you want to go with an electric provider that charges you more, when you can go to www.sparkpowerbank.com and pay far less for the same electricity?

Make sense?

Teammates and fellow residents Kaitlyn Fritz, Reagan Burch and Ashley Smith gave it all they had on the field in the freezing cold weather to help pull out a victory for the team.
