FAQ Regarding Finishing an Awana Book/s 1. What does my child have to do to finish his/her book during the Awana calendar year? If a child completes 2 sections on average during the year, he/she will finish the book. 2. What will he/she receive for finishing? All students receive a participation award at the annual Awana Awards Celebration in early May. Students who complete their books receive a ribbon or small trophy. 3. What is the Timothy Award? Students who have completed grades 3-6 and completed 4 books are awarded the Timothy Award. We make a big deal of this at Door Creek. Kids and their parents are honored at Awards night. 4. What if my child cannot finish his/her book during the school year? Children can complete a book over the summer months. Those who attend Door Creek may ask an Awana leader to listen to a verse at a weekend service. 5. Can my child work ahead? No. Children who are on track finishing one book per calendar year/per grade year cannot work ahead. If your child comes into the program late, he/she can do more than one book per year. 6. Can section be done out of order? No. Sections must be said in order. However, we encourage students to look ahead and work on bigger projects or Bible studies at home. 7. What about Gold and Silver sections? These are extra credit and do not count toward finishing a book.
