Scenario: Messages sent via Exclaimer Cloud are not being delivered and your message transfer agent receives the following rejection message: 451 4.4.4 Relay Access Denied, unrecognized sender domain. ATTR36

Reason: Microsoft requires all Exclaimer Cloud customers to have a digital certificate that provides additional secure message authentication. Without this certificate, Microsoft could classify your email messages as being of high risk. Your emails could be delivered using Microsoft’s high risk delivery pool, which ends up causing them to be marked as spam and/or be blocked. For more information, please review the following Microsoft article.

Solution: Re-run the Exclaimer Cloud Setup Wizard so that Exclaimer, through a primary certificate authority, can generate a digital certificate on your behalf. This will then be added in the Exclaimer Cloud configuration database against your details. To do this, follow the steps below: 1.

Log in to the Exclaimer Cloud portal.

Click the Launch button for your subscription.

Within the Signatures for Office 365 UI, you will notice a red banner at the top of the screen high lighting that your Office 365 connectors need to be updated. Click the link in the banner or simply go to the Settings button:

You will need to sign into Office 365 as a Global Administrator to continue. Click OK to sign in:

Read the information about the update and then click Next to continue:

Enter your Global Administrator details:

The Setup Wizard will run. This should take only a few minutes to complete. Please note that your existing Receive Connector will remain in place until this process is completed:

Once completed, click Close to finish the setup process.

Please note that it can take up to an hour for your new Connector to become active in Office 365. Your existing Receive Connector will stay in place until the new one is live.

FAQs How long will this take? The update will only take a few minutes. The Setup Wizard will guide you through the process step-by-step. Will there be any degradation in my service? Will my emails be affected? At no point will the service or your emails be affected. Your old 365 connectors will remain in place until the Setup Wizard has completed the appropriate replication in Office 365. They will then be replaced by new connectors.
