Family Surveys

1st Grade SAMA Field Lesson – 3/1

This week, we will be sending home surveys with each of our scholars. These surveys provide families with the opportunity to give us feedback. Scholars will receive owl stamps for returning their completed surveys to school. We appreciate your support in completing these surveys!

This Thursday (3/1), our 1st grade scholars will visit the San Antonio Museum of Art (SAMA). The following is the information that 1st grade families need to know about the upcoming field lesson:

Scholars’ Artwork Sixteen of our IDEA South Flores Academy Scholars have been selected to have their artwork exhibited in the San Antonio Museum of Art’s City Colorific: SA 3000 exhibition. You can go see our scholars’ artwork alongside other outstanding works on Tuesday, March 13, from 12:004:00PM during the Spring Break Family Day.

Weekly Attendance Our goal is to average 97.5% attendance every week because it makes our scholars more successful. These are our results last week: PK – 94.87% K – 95.69% 1 – 97.33% 2 – 97.12% 3 – 97.00% 4 – 96.28% 5 – 95.54% Overall – 96.83% Shout out to First Grade for having the highest attendance this past week!

Thursday, March 1st During the school day Free – please do not send your scholar with money Regular uniform Bus transportation We will provide sack lunches for scholars. You can send your scholar with cold lunch, but make sure it is in a paper bag and is completely disposable for easy clean up. Permission slips will be sent home this week. Please sign this slip and have your scholar return it to their homeroom teacher.

Academy Book Fair – Paws for Books! The Book Fair is now open! The theme of this book fair is “Paws for Books.” The following table shows the hours for the Book Fair and the special events on each day. Date Monday (2/26) Tuesday (2/27) Wednesday (2/28) Thursday (3/1) Friday (3/2)

Special Event A special furry visitor will be at the Book Fair to celebrate it’s opening! Scholars can wear animal ears and tails to school!

Scholars can purchase books during AR or Recess. Families can purchase will be open from 4:30 – 6PM

Clifford the Big Read Dog will meet and greet families from 56:30PM at the Book Fair! Dr. Seuss’ Birthday! Scholars may wear jeans, black shoes and black belt with a Dr. Seuss themed shirt! All kinds of pets will be at the Book Fair for our scholars to meet! Come get to know them all!
