IN MY DAY TO DAY Week 11: Parenting March 16 & 19, 2017 • Pastor Joby Martin

SCRIPTURE  Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord. 21 Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they become discouraged. Colossians 3:20-21 20

Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2  “Honor your father and mother” (this is the first commandment with a promise), 3 “that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land.” 4 Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. Ephesians 6:1-4 Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6

THE POINT Of all the parents in the entire world, God chose YOU to raise your kids. Are you raising God-worshiping missionaries or culturally compliant citizens?

FINAL THOUGHT  Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward. 4 Like arrows in the hand of  a warrior are the children of one’s youth. Psalm 127:3-4 3
