The camera is designed to be weather resistant. Never attempt to immerse the unit in water or any other liquid. This will damage the unit and void the warranty



Use a soft lens cloth for cleaning lens. Avoid touching lens with fingers. And remove dirt or stains with a soft cloth dampened with water or neutral detergent. Keep your camera in a dry and cool dust-free environment or container when it is NOT used



Take the batteries out, when camera is NOT in use over an extended period of time



Avoid dropping your camera



Do not disassemble your camera



Do not mix new and old batteries



Do not open the camera for unauthorized service. This could cause serious damage to the unit and WILL void the warranty. NOTE: This camera is a precision electronic device. Do not attempt to service this camera yourself, as opening or removing covers may expose you to dangerous voltage points or other risks.

Definitions Definitions of Front View parts •

Passive Infrared Sensor: Used to detect the moving infrared heat. i.e. people



Microphone: Can record sound while video recording



Infrared LED: Invisible light for night time capture



Status display: Displays the settings and camera status



Camera Lens: Used to capture the image/video



EJECT Button: Pressing this button releases the battery tray to gain access to the batteries to install or replace (Batteries Not Supplied)



Slide Switch: To select the different camera modes, changing the camera status, TEST, OFF, Preset A, B or CAM



Test / Batt Low Indicator: Indicates the PIR detection coverage when camera is switched to TEST or indicate the battery is low



USB Port: Used to connect the camera to PC by the provided USB cable for captured image/video download



[▲]Up and [▼] Down Button: To change the mode and adjust the setting value when camera is switched to TEST



SD Card Slot: Used to install the SD memory card, the camera supports SD memory card up to 32GB



[M] Menu Button: Used for entering the camera’s menus or press and hold 2 seconds for exit

Front Cover: To prevent the water ingress, can also be locked (not supplied) after settings adjustments



External Power Port Cover: 12V DC external PSU can be connected (sold separately). Please ensure this seal is closed tightly if the external power is not used.



Battery Tray: Container to install 6 AA alkaline battery



Lock Hole: Attaching a lock to prevent unauthorized access to settings or theft of SD card



Tripod Mount: Used to attach the wall mount bracket or tripod (tripod not supplied)



Strap Holes: Used to attach the camera to pillar or tree by the provided mounting strap



Python Cable Holes: Used to lock the camera to pillar or tree by Python cable (sold separately)



Locker: Used to lock the cover in right location NOTE: Make sure the installed batteries or the external power is the correct polarity.

CAM: Indicates the camera mode, still image capture



VIDEO: Indicates the camera mode, video capture



: Indicates the number of burst capture, and video recording time



: It indicates the battery status.

Quick Start Guide This guide is designed to show how to setup the unit in a short period. To get the most out of this SEURITY CAMERA, please read the manual thoroughly before operation. If you would like to modify any of the Factory Default Settings, except for the Time & Date, please read manual for instructions.

Factory Default Settings: Time Out: 30 seconds Burst Mode: 1P Resolution: 8MP Operation Mode: PIR Video Capture: 10 seconds (Resolution 720P) Time Lapse Mode setting: 19:00-7:00 (Next day), Time out 60 seconds, Resolution 8MP, 1P Still image. •

A (Preset A) - This bypasses all user defined settings and uses the following settings: (PIR mode / Still image / Resolution: 5MP / Burst: 3P / Time out: 30 seconds).



B (Preset B) - This bypasses all user defined settings and uses the following settings: (PIR mode / Video: 10 seconds / Resolution: 720P / Time out: 30 seconds).



CAM – A programmable mode for user to program the setting you wanted.

Initial Camera Set-up: 1.

Open the front cover

Insert SD card into the camera SD card slot until secured, ensure card inserted the correct way round

3.

Pressing the “EJECT” button and slide out the battery tray out, install 6 “AA” batteries (Not Supplied) into the tray ensuring the correct polarity (+/-) as indicated in battery tray, then push the battery tray back into camera

4.

Sliding the switch from OFF to TEST to adjust the Time and Date

5.

The status display shows “T” flashing, if “Test” is displayed then please refer to “Time & Date Setting” on page 16

6.

Press the [UP] or [DN] button to adjust the first digit of Hour then press [M] to confirm, and go to next digit of Hour then [M] and move to the Minute setting.

7.

Press the [UP] or [DN] then [M] button repeats to set the Minutes in digit by digit until Minute setting is completed then move to Date

8.

Adjust the Year, Month and Day by using [UP] or [DN] and then [M] button in digit by digit to complete the setting. Each time you finish an adjustment, you MUST press the [M] button to confirm and move to the next digit for adjustment.

9.

Once it is done, the word GPS will be blinking, this stands for GPS coordinate data setting and will allow you to set your camera’s coordinate data. Press and hold the [M] button 2 seconds to exit.

NOTE: The Time and Date will be stamped onto the image or video.

Special Requirement when Using Batteries. WARNING: Do not use different Voltage lead acid battery other than the one specified in this section. Doing so will damage the camera and will void the warranty. Do not mix old and new batteries, and Do not mix alkaline, standard, or rechargeable batteries. WARNING: ALWAYS have the camera in the OFF position when installing or removing batteries and memory card. Removing batteries or memory card while the camera is ON may damage the camera.

Battery and Memory Installation The camera is designed to operate with two different types of supply, either 6xAA alkaline batts or remote 12v DC NOTE: Make sure camera is in the OFF position whenever adding or removing memory.

“AA” Battery (not supplied) The internal battery tray accepts 6 pieces of “AA” battery. Be sure to use high quality branded alkaline batteries. Install batteries with correct polarity (+/-) as noted inside the battery tray.

12V DC external power (not supplied) The camera is equipped with an external power socket designed to accept a 2.1mm jack plug 12V DC adaptor or battery pack (sold separately). Facina_VKPCCTV_Instructions_Rev01

Make sure camera is in the OFF position



Insert the jack plug of external AC/DC power adaptor or battery pack into the DC 12V port at the bottom of camera housing



Sliding the switch to TEST or A or B or CAM from OFF

Memory Options The camera is also equipped with an expandable media card slot capable of accepting from 2GB up to 32GB SD card with Class 10 or below speed rating (sold separately). The status display will show the number of images stored on the SD card. If no SD card is inserted the status display will show “NOSd”. And once the memory is full, the camera will overwrite the memory to keep the last image and delete the first image from the memory.

Inserting SD memory card •

Note: Please ensure the camera is switched off while inserting or removing the SD card. Open the cover, and insert SD memory card in to the SD card slot completely and in the correct direction as shown on the top of SD card slot.



To remove the SD memory card, depress the SD card and pull out the card gently (ensure the switch is in the off position)



SD cards must be empty (i.e. blank). If you are using the SD card from other cameras, please make sure to format the SD card in your computer prior to use in this camera.

New SD cards can be used straight from the packaging SD Card FORMAT – Definition: When you format a SD memory card, the operating system erases all information and files on the card. Then it creates an internal address tables that it later uses to locate information and files. Formatting also removes all Hidden System files as well. Basically it cleans your SD memory card just like if it was brand new. DO NOT USE File System type: “NTFS” or “exFAT”, these formats are not supported.

Camera Setup and Program When the camera switch is first turned in the A or B or CAM position from OFF, the status display shows the camera status. The following information is on this status display. This camera is equipped with 2 preset and 1 programmable operation modes. The camera will power off within 5 minutes if there isn’t any operation when switch is slid to TEST position.

Setting the Operation Mode: NOTE: If you choose one of the Preset settings, your camera will only function in PIR Detection Mode (not Time Lapse Mode). Facina_VKPCCTV_Instructions_Rev01

CAM – This is a programmable mode for user to program the setting you wanted.

Setting the Time and Date: Your camera uses the 24hr military time format. •

Slide the switch to the TEST position and the status display will show the camera’s current status.



Press [M] button once to call out the program menu.



The word PIR or TLS will be blinking, press [DN] button until display shows SET in blinking, then press [M] to confirm camera into setting.



The word – dEL – will in blinking, press [DN] button once to get the T (Time) in blinking, then press [M] to confirm.

Press [UP] or [DN] button to adjust the first digit of Hour then press [M] to confirm, and go to next digit of hour then [M] and move to the Minute setting.

Setting the Programmable Mode: Your camera can be programmed to operate either in PIR Detection mode or Time Lapse / PIR mode when programmed at the TEST and switched back to CAM. Select the Switch to CAM - This allows the user to define what setting the camera will use. Passive Infrared Mode

Setting the camera in PIR Mode: •

Slide the switch to the TEST position from OFF.



The status display will show the camera’s current status.



Press [M] button once to call out the program menu and the word PIR or TLS will be blinking.



Press [UP] or [DN] button to select PIR mode.



Press [M] to save your selection, the display shows PIR, and CAM AES or VIDEO T in blinking.



Press and hold the [M] button 2 seconds to exit, and display will show the camera status with word PIR.



Now, camera will operate at PIR Detection Mode if you slide the switch to CAM position.

Setting the Image Resolution in PIR mode: Your camera can be programmed to 3 different image resolutions: “3 Stars” is 8MP, “2 Stars” is 5MP and “1 Star” is 2MP. •

Slide the switch to the TEST position from OFF and the status display will show the camera’s current status.



Press [M] button once to call out the program menu and the word PIR will be blinking.



Press [M] to confirm the camera’s operation is PIR detection.



Press [UP] or [DN] button until the word CAM and AES (Resolution) are blinking.



Press [M] button ONCE to confirm the camera into still image resolution setting.



Press [UP] or [DN] button to select the desired resolution.



Press [M] to save your selection, then burSt (Burst shoot) will blink. Press [M] to enter the burst shoot setting or press and hold the [M] button 2 seconds to exit.

Setting the Burst Shoot in PIR mode: Your camera can be programmed to shoot 1-10 pictures per trigger. •

Slide the switch to the TEST position from OFF and the status display will show the camera’s current status.



Press [M] button once to call out the program menu and the word PIR will be blinking.

Press [M] to confirm the camera’s operation is PIR detection.



Press [UP] or [DN] button until the word CAM and burSt are blinking.



Press [M] button ONCE to confirm the camera into still image burst setting.



Press [UP] or [DN] button to select the desired burst setting (number of pictures per trigger).



Press [M] to save your selection, then the CAM and T-O (time out) will blink. Press [M] button to enter time out setting or pressing and hold the [M] button 2 seconds to exit.

Setting the Time of Video length in PIR mode: Your camera can be programmed to record 5 ~ 600 seconds (00:05-10:00 minutes) of video per trigger. The Video capture is only workable under PIR mode. •

After set camera operated at PIR detection, press [M] to confirm.



Press [UP] or [DN] button until the word VIDEO and T are blinking.



Press [M] button ONCE to confirm the camera into video recording time setting.



Press [UP] or [DN] button to select the desired time 5~600 seconds (video recording time per trigger).



Press [M] to save your selection, then the VIDEO and T-O (time out) will blink. Press [M] button to enter time out

setting or pressing and hold [M] button 2 seconds to exit.

Setting the Time Out in PIR mode: Your camera can set the amount of time in seconds or minutes the camera will sleep between two PIR triggers. •

In order to complete the Burst Shoot or Time of Video Length settings, press [M] button.



The status display will show out CAM T-O or VIDEO T-O in blinking



Press [M] button to into the Time Out setting.



Press [UP] or [DN] button to increase or decrease the first digit of minutes, then [M] to confirm and go to next digit of minutes, repeat by pressing [UP] or [DN] then [M] to complete minutes and seconds value, and then save the time out setting.



You’ll then see the word PIR blinking. Press [DN] button twice to SET menu or press and hold [M] button 2 seconds to exit and camera stays at PIR detection mode.

Setting the Time Lapse Mode (TLS): The Time Lapse default setting value is from 19:00 to 07:00 next day. When the camera is set to use the Time Lapse Mode (TLS), the program settings will follow the Time Lapse settings, and if PIR is active during the TLS, the time out of TLS will resume. Outside of the Time Lapse time frame; the camera will follow the user defined PIR settings. Your camera can be set operative for a pre-determined time period [such as 19:00 to 07:00]. still images (video function not available in Time Lapse mode). The camera will remain in Time Lapse mode until you changed the program setting, the image resolution and burst number is the same as PIR mode setting. •

Slide the switch to the TEST position from OFF, the status display will show the camera’s current status.



Press [M] button once to call out the program menu, the word PIR or TLS will be blinking.



Press [DN] button until you see the word TLS blinking.



Press [M] to confirm and go into Time Lapse Mode "Start Time" setting.



The display will show T + S- 88:88 (S = Start, 88:88 = time in HH:MM).



Press [M] to confirm



Press [UP] or [DN] button to increase or decrease the first digit of hours, then [M] to confirm and go to next digit of hours, repeat by pressing [UP] or [DN] then [M] to complete hours and minutes value and then save the TLS start time setting.



After completing the start time setting, camera will go into Time Lapse Mode "End Time" setting.



The display will show T + E- 88:88 (E = End, 88:88 = time in HH:MM)

You can adjust the time from 00:00 to 23:59 by pressing the [UP] or [DN] then [M] buttons same as Start Time settings.



After completing the end time setting, camera will go into Time Lapse Mode "Time Out" setting, the display will show T-O + 88:88 (T-O = time out, 88:88 = time in MM:SS or OFF)



Press [M] button to into the Time Lapse Mode Timeout setting.



Press [UP] or [DN] button to increase or decrease the first digit of minutes from 0 to 1 and OFF, then [M] to confirm and go to next digit of minutes, repeat by pressing [UP] or [DN] then [M] to complete minutes and seconds value, and then save the timeout setting. NOTE: The Time Out for TLS is amount of time in seconds or minutes that camera will sleep after the capture. If PIR is activated within the timeout of TLS, camera will recount the timeout. The Time Out for TLS is OFF and 00:05~10:00 (600 sec) in 5 sec increment. When Timeout is set to OFF, the camera will not take any image.



You’ll then see the word TLS blinking. Press [DN] button once to SET menu or press and hold [M] button 2 seconds to exit and camera stays at TLS detection mode.



Now, camera will operate at Time Lapse Mode if you slide the switch to CAM position, and the image resolution and burst number is the same as the settings of PIR mode.

To change the resolution and burst number, please follow the Setting the Programmable mode & Setting the Image Resolution in PIR mode & Setting the Burst Shoot in PIR mode.

EXAMPLE: #1: If a user selected the Time Lapse Mode (TLS), and sets the Start Time to 07:00 and End Time at 20:30, then selects the Timeout to be 3 mins with a Burst mode of 3 pictures, this means that the camera will keep taking 3 pictures for every 3 minutes within the time frame of 7:00AM to 8:30PM. When not within the Time Lapse time frame, the camera will follow the normal PIR detection settings. #2: If a user selected the Time Lapse mode setting as Start Time 08:00 and End Time 18:00, then selected the Timeout to be OFF with a Burst mode of 3 pictures, this means the camera will not take the pictures within the time frame of 08:00 to 18:00. #3: If a user selected the Time Lapse mode setting as Start Time 00:00 and End Time 00:00, then selected the Timeout to be 5 minutes with a Burst mode of 3 pictures, this means the camera will keep taking 3 pictures for every 5 minutes, 24 hours a day non-stop.

Time Lapse Mode Setup Recommendations: We recommend that if you are using the Time Lapse feature and want to extend your battery life and get the most pictures possible, pls use the following settings: Batteries: Energizer Lithium Batteries Resolution: Basic (1 Star–2MP) Time Out: More than 30 seconds Facina_VKPCCTV_Instructions_Rev01

Setting the GPS coordinate: Your camera’s photo has GPS coordinate value for you to trace the image location and the GPS coordinate value will be show at the captured image’s file properties. NOTE : The latitude and longitude for any location where you plan to place the camera can be obtained at many websites, e.g.: Http://itouchmap.com/latlong.html. You can enter a nearby street address, zip code or use the various types of maps to locate the approximate position. •

After completed the Data and Time setting, the display shows GPS in blinking.



Press [M] button to confirm into GPS setting.



Press [UP] or [DN] to select the LAt (Latitude), display shows LAt in blinking, press [M] button to confirm.



Press [UP] or [DN] button to select the + for North or – for South, the press [M] to confirm and move to next digit.



Press [UP] or [DN] then [M] button repeats to set the LAt coordinate value until complete.



Then go to set the LNG (Longitude), the display shows LNG in blinking, press [M] button to confirm.



Press [UP] or [DN] button to select the + for East or – for West, the press [M] to confirm and move to next digit.

Press [UP] or [DN] then [M] button repeatedly to set the LNG coordinate value until complete.



Once it is done, the word SET will be blinking. Press and hold [M] button 2 seconds to exit.

Setting up the camera in the field Once all program settings have been setup properly, your camera is ready for field use.

Getting started Listed below are some helpful suggestions on how to use your camera to get the best result. •

Mount the camera about 1.5~2M (5~6 feet) high with the camera pointed at a slightly downward angle.



Mount the camera facing north or south NOT east or west due to the rising and setting of the sun could produce false triggers and overexposed images.



If you’re covering a trail, face the camera down or up the trail. Most commercial cameras take less than one second to sense motion/heat and take a picture.



Clean out any brush or weeds in front of camera. This will cause false pictures caused by wind or in high temperature days.



Double check battery before turning on the camera for use.



Make sure to insert the memory card after setting up the camera.

Verify time and date is correct.



Make sure to turn the camera from TEST to A or B or CAM position before you leave.

Aim Your Camera : Your Camera is built with RED LED to indicate the Passive Infrared Sensor detection coverage area and the capture area. Please follow below operations to test that area. •

After mounting the camera to pillar or tree by the provided mounting strap, installing batteries and SD card.



Open the cover, and then slide the switch to TEST position from OFF.



The display will show - tESt -.



Walk around in front of the camera to see if you have mounted the camera in the proper position. The RED LED indicator will blink when you have intruded the coverage area.



Adjust the camera position as needed and repeat testing until the desired coverage area is achieved.



When you have completed the coverage area testing and slide the switch to CAM or A or B from TEST and please close the front cover with lock.



Now camera will start 60 seconds countdown by displaying from 60 to 0. It gives you one minute to leave the coverage area. Then camera will be armed and enter the PIR detection Mode or Time Lapse Mode.

NOTE: Make sure you slide the power switch from TEST to A or B or CAM position before you leave the field. Otherwise, the Camera will not take any pictures and will auto power off for power saving if it is switched at TEST for more than 5 minutes. Wake it up by sliding the switch to OFF then to TEST / A / B / Facina_VKPCCTV_Instructions_Rev01

Using the Camera in PIR Detection Mode •

Mounting the camera to pillar or tree by the provided mounting strap.



Open the cover and slide the switch from OFF position to A or B or CAM position. At this point, the status display will count down 60 seconds for you to close the cover and lock it then leave the trigger area.



If you chose CAM position then make sure your camera is in the PIR mode and not TLS (Time Lapse). If you are not sure, please follow the “Camera setup and program” above to set the camera into the proper mode.

To Capture Images, make sure display reads CAM: Once the switch at CAM position, if the display does not read CAM then, •

Slide the switch to the TEST position, the status display will show the camera current status.



Press [M] button once to call out the program menu.



The word PIR will be blinking, press [M] to confirm the camera’s operation is PIR detection.



Press [UP] or [DN] button until the word CAM is blinking.



Press [M] button ONCE to confirm and then press and hold [M] Button 2 seconds to exit.



Then slide the switch from TEST position to CAM.

To Capture Videos, make sure display reads VIDEO: Once the switch at CAM position, if the display does not read VIDEO then, •

Slide the switch to the TEST position, the status display will show the camera current status.



Press [M] button once to call out the program menu.



The word PIR will be blinking, press [M] to confirm the camera’s operation is PIR detection.



Press [UP] or [DN] button until the word VIDEO is blinking.



Press [M] button ONCE to confirm and then press and hold [M] Button 2 seconds to exit.



Then slide the switch from TEST to CAM position and close the front cover with lock.

Right now, the status display will count down 60 seconds for you to leave the coverage area, camera will captures image or video for each PIR trigger after countdown. NOTE: The time between motion detection and the camera taking the pictures may vary due to lighting conditions, program settings, and battery power level. The IR Emitter will only be activated in low light conditions.

Using the Camera in Time Lapse Mode •

Mount the camera to the tree or wall or other sturdy object using the supplied mounting strap.



Open the cover and slide the switch to TEST position.



Press [M] button once to call out the program menu and the word PIR or TLS will be blinking.



Press [DN] button until you see the word TLS blinking.



Press [M] button ONCE to confirm and then press and hold [M] Button 2 seconds to exit.



Other setting please follow the “Camera setup and program - Setting the Time Lapse Mode” above to set the camera into TLS mode.



Then slide the switch from TEST to CAM position and close the front cover with lock.

Right now, the status display will count down 60 seconds for you to leave the coverage area, and then camera will start the Time Lapse Mode. And the unit will start capturing once it reaches programmed start time, and stops at the end time.

Viewing and Deleting Files The camera offers the user different options for viewing their images. You can view images or videos through either on your computer by provided USB cable or take out SD card to view by your computer. The status display on front of the housing will show the number of images stored on the SD memory card. NOTE: The instructions below are based on starting with a camera that’s power is turned off (Switch at OFF position)

Viewing files on your computer via USB connection. Your camera is a plug and play USB storage device for using of Win Vista, 7, 8, MAC OS 10.6 or above, or the device supports MSDC (Mass Storage) mode. • • • •

Make sure the camera’s switch is in the OFF position. Plug the larger end of the USB cable into an available USB port on your computer. Plug the smaller end of USB cable into the camera’s USB port on the bottom of the camera after opening the cover. The camera will automatically power ON and display the word USb on the status display.

At the same time, your computer will recognize the camera as a Removable Storage device. You will find it under MY COMPUTER. At this point you have several options: To view your images or play your videos: Click on the Removable Storage device and then drill down to the file you want to see and double click on the file name. To save your images and videos: Highlight the file or files you want to save and drag them to your hard drive. To delete your images and videos: Highlight the files or files you want to delete and press the [DELETE] button. To erase all files and reformat you SD memory card: Right click on the Removable Storage device under My Computer and select FORMAT then click START. You will receive a Warning message press [OK]. Then CLOSE to exit. NOTE: Make sure before you FORMAT you are certain it is the Removable Storage device for the camera.



Once you’re done, simply unplug the cable from both your computer and the camera. The camera will turn OFF automatically.

Deleting files in the field •

Slide the switch to the TEST position, the status display will show the camera current status.



Press [M] button once to call out the program menu.



The word PIR or TLS will be blinking, press [DN] until you see the word TLS in blinking.



Press [M] button to confirm, camera will go into delete menu, the word - dEL - will be blinking. Press [M] button to enter the NO-dEL (No Delete), dLONE (Delete One), dL-ALL (Delete All) & Ft (FORMAT) menu. Press [UP] or [DN] button to select the desired function. NO-dEL (No Delete) : No images get deleted.





dL-ONE (Delete One) : Only the last file will get deleted. dL-ALL (Delete ALL) : Deletes ALL images on the SD card. Ft (Format) : Deletes all files and reformats the SD card.

Press [M] to confirm your selection. To exit by press and hold [M] button 2 seconds to back to the status screen, and then slide the switch back to OFF.
