Nancy White has been a Prison Entrepreneurship Program (PEP) Executive Volunteer for eight years, served on the PEP Houston Advisory Board, and is currently a director on the PEP Governing Board. She is a Business Plan Advisor for PEP participants and a “repeat attender” at events at the Cleveland Unit (men) and Lockhart Unit (women). When asked why she spends time in prison, she replies, “I am addicted to witnessing life transformations of men and women who have been given a second chance of becoming who God intended them to be.” Nancy is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma and had a 25-year career with Timex Corporation as a sales and marketing director. She is a 28-year MDPC member, is married to Tim, and has two daughters and two granddaughters. Turn over this newsletter for a way to serve PEP!
After Lunch: Czech Center Museum (7020 Portwest Dr. Ste. 150, 77024) We will lunch at Lucille’s, where chefs and brothers, Ben and Chris Williams, pay homage to their great-grandmother, Lucille B. Smith, by replicating some of her most famous recipes while embellishing others to create innovative takes on Southern classics. People will pay for their own lunch. After lunch we will visit the Czech Center Museum. Admission of $6.00 (pay at the door) includes all the Czech exhibits and the gift shop. The museum provides authentic objects, art, music, and stories of the lives of Czechs and Slovaks who left their countries to seek liberty and democracy in America. All are welcome! Call Tammy Allyn with questions at 832-816-6254.

February Anniversaries
Service Opportunity
Ways to Serve Prison Entrepreneurship Program Work with the Business Plan Competition class participants to develop real-world business plans. Volunteer advisors and mentors work with participants on how to job search, dress, behave in social and business settings, and develop a strong spiritual basis on which to build their new lives. Volunteers also are needed to host a family-style dinner at one of their transition homes. Contact Kristie Wisniewski at 832-767-0928, visit www.pep.org/take-action, or visit serve.mdpc.org and follow the steps to find volunteer opportunities at PEP.
