The Senior Teacher is responsible for the coordination of high level educational delivery to EFS clients. The Senior Teacher is also responsible for the effective development, delivery and evaluation of teaching/learning programs and teaching practices in accordance with the Standards for NVR Registered Training Organisations 2011 (SNR), and/or the ESOS Act and/or Government contract requirements. Key responsibilities will include:             

assisting in the planning and organisation of teaching and program delivery in all teaching modes providing advice and support for teachers on curricula, materials and teaching practice providing an overview and link for teachers between syllabus objectives and classroom practice providing support for the integration of online resources assisting in monitoring quality standards in program provision implementing and modelling high standards of work performance assisting in managing the work performance of academic staff contributing to the enhancement of teachers’ skills and work performance in all delivery modes contributing to the development and implementation of annual professional and curricula development plans for staff assisting teaching staff to meet contract requirements overseeing and mentoring newly employed teachers coordinating and evaluating the use of bilingual support staff in the classrooms (where appropriate) providing occasional emergency cover for absent teachers

Essential Criteria       

Extensive experience in teaching ESOL programs Experience working in AMEP and/or SEE programs Knowledge of program delivery and curricula requirements Demonstrated ability to coordinate language programs and supervise academic teams Demonstrated ability to design and delivery professional development to teachers Demonstrated high level interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills in a multi-cultural learning environment Demonstrated awareness of a range of cultural perspectives and sensitive approaches relevant to our clients

Desirable Criteria 

Knowledge of reporting frameworks such as ACSF and ISLPR Skills in using MS Excel
