Watch out for some awesome activities that they will be bringing home. Reminder that picture day is September 26th. If you would like your child to have their picture taken please make sure you pay online or you send the envelope with money back to school. Another reminder is that this Friday September 23rd is an early release day; students will be getting out at 12:00. We hope you have an awesome week! GO KINDER WOLVES! FIRST GRADE CORNER First Grade Families, We sent progress reports home last Friday. Don't forget to sign and return to your child's homeroom teacher. When it comes to ELA and math classes, please keep in mind the first grade teachers see a minimum of 50 students in one day. (This is why your child has an AM schedule and a PM schedule; so all students are able to receive instruction). If you are concerned or merely curious on how your child is doing in a class, reach out to that teacher. We LOVE how Class Dojo has made messaging easy. We are also issued cell phones from the school. No matter how you reach out, we have 24 hours to return your message. If you call a teacher, please leave a voicemail with the following: Your name, your child's name, a brief message about why you're calling, and your phone number. Phone numbers that do not leave a message may not be returned within 24 hours. Thanks again for "sweating the small stuff." Go Wolves! Grade Team Leader: Ms. Acuna [email protected] ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________

SECOND GRADE CORNER Hello Wonderful Families, Don't forget this Friday, September 23, is Crazy Sock Day. Scholars are allowed to wear their favorite silly socks. It will also be an early release day. Scholars will be dismissed at 12 pm. In order to ensure lesson mastery and scholar success, it is important for students to be at school every single day. Also, please ensure scholars come in full uniform on Picture Day (September 26th). Have a great week! Grade Team Leader: Mrs. Morales [email protected] __________________________________________________________________________________________________

THIRD GRADE CORNER Hello 3rd Grade Families, Can you believe September is already more than half-way through? We are so excited for all that is to come! We have just a few reminders for this week: Millionaire Goals- Please continue to encourage your scholar to be testing on the books they are reading in school and at home. We want to get students hitting their goals early in the year, so they aren't scrambling at the end. Lifework- Please continue to remind your scholars to complete their lifework packet and reading log. Our West Wing numbers are way down, but we would love for it to be empty. Thank you so much for everything you do! The 3rd Grade Team Grade Team Leader: Mrs. Mahoney [email protected] __________________________________________________________________________________________________

FOURTH GRADE CORNER Every week, our students are working on a set of spelling words to expand their vocabularies and writing abilities. Lifework reminders: Parents please ensure students are writing 5 complete sentences on their reading logs. Students need to show their work for their math questions. Mr. De Leon has taught them to show the inverse operation to check their work. Upcoming events: Sept. 23rd is our first early release! Sincerely, The 4th Grade Team Grade Team Leader: Mrs. Solano [email protected] IDEA Walzem Academy 6445 Walzem Rd. San Antonio, TX 78239 (210) 239-4600 www.ideapublicschools.org
