Inspiring Community

As fall approaches, so does the annual Holy Trinity Stewardship campaign. Every church conducts some sort of program to determine the funds available for the coming year’s operating budget. Have you noticed, however, that Holy Trinity focuses more on developing each members’ personal relationship to Jesus Christ, bringing us increasingly to our Vision of Every Member in Ministry? It’s that personal relationship that gives us the desire to support the mission and ministry Holy Trinity Episcopal Church. Rather than one member of the Vestry chairing the Stewardship campaign, your entire Vestry is participating in the development and execution of it. This year’s stewardship program will give us the tools to better understand how God wants us to develop and use our time, talent and treasure both individually and collectively. With a theme scripture verse of Psalm 51:10; Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me, we will use the SOAP Bible study/journaling method. What does SOAP stand for? Scripture, Observation, Application, Prayer. This innovative approach to stewardship will begin in October and everything you will need to participate will be provided.

Be sure to attend church on September 30/October 1 to receive your personalized copy of the SOAP journal.

O R E C HIL D N & Y UT H TKC and MORE!!! The first Whole Family Church Night was a great success! With Frolic for nursery age children, and TKC the children of HT had a fun time learning about God! TKC had a great turn out and the children loved music with Justin and their first Walking With the Wise lesson, especially the Wise Guy puppet skit. Thanks to Lena Andrews and Randy Jacobson, for sharing their time and talents as The Teacher and Wise Guy. Join us every Wednesday after dinner!

From Youth Minister, Phil:

We invite you to join us on a trip to the Holy Land April 17-26, 2018. A journey following the footsteps of Jesus will change the way we read the Bible. Our itinerary will include: Galilee, Cana, Nazareth, Jericho, Mount of Olives, Jerusalem, Bethlehem, and more. The all-inclusive price is $3646 per person, double occupancy or $4244, single occupancy. For more information, pick up a brochure at church, or speak with Rev. Pam or Fr. Steve.

OCTOBER 15 at 6:00pm!

NEW FOYER GROUPS FORMING!

Foyer is a French word which means a hearth or a warm place of welcome. Foyer Groups are a fun and easy way for parishioners to gather together on a regular but informal basis for purely social reasons. There are no programs, no projects, and no assigned topic of conversation. Just to enjoy one another’s company, to strengthen bonds of community, to meet new members and simply get to know and love each other as part of our faith community here at Holy Trinity.

Sign-up sheets will be in the Narthex during the month of September, as well as pamphlets to learn more about Foyer Groups. My husband Dean and I have thoroughly enjoyed our Foyer experiences. Remember, what’s shared at Foyer, stays at Foyer! We encourage you to participate. Blessings, Linda & Dean 4

They will not be vaccinating children under ten years of age.

September 24 - SPEECH THERAPY HEALTH FORUM: Join us for the Health Forum on the east side

of the Parish Hall at 10:30am. Does little Susie have a lisp because she is missing her two front teeth or is it something else? Eight-year-old Jimmy sometimes stammers when he’s telling us about his day. Is he a stutterer or just so excited to tell us things? My daughter’s voice isn’t as loud as it once was. Does she need a speech pathologist or an oncologist? When most people think about speech-language pathologists they think about articulation disorder. Add to this list swallowing and feeding disorders, cognitive-communicative disorders, including social communication, reasoning, problem solving and executive functioning. If you have any questions, come and hear Ro Olsson’s presentation. Ro attends the 5:00pm service and is very active in her career as a Speech-Language Pathologist and this church.
