Purpose of Family Under Attack: To be equipped with a biblical understanding of the issues that surround marriage and families. To personally apply the biblical truths of marriage and family.      

God’s Design for the Family (September 14/15) Biblical Sexuality (September 21/22) Attack on the Foundation: Divorce (September 28/29) Attack on the Structure: Relationships (October 5/6) Attack on God’s Design: Homosexuality (October 12/13) God’s Design for Parenting (October 26/27 & November 2/3)

Deuteronomy 6:4 Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. 1. Is the Lord truly your God? 2. Is the Lord your only God? Deuteronomy 6:5 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. 3. Do you demonstrate your love for God with your whole person (thinking, attitude, desires, passion, time, energy)? Deuteronomy 6:6 These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts.

4. Are you grounded in the foundations of the faith (knowledge) and are you living grounded (practice)? Deuteronomy 6:7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.

5. Are you diligently teaching your children in your home how to love and serve God by your words and actions? Deuteronomy 6:8 Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. 6. Are your thoughts and habits pleasing to God? Deuteronomy 6:9 Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates. 7. Does your home standout as uniquely Christian? Make a commitment before God. Identify one question where you are not pleased with how you’ve scored yourself. What are you going to do about it? 

Our marriage is disconnected or our family is dysfunctional. We are going to email [email protected], or [email protected] or [email protected] and get the name of a Christian counselor.

I am not grounded. After the service, I am going to the lobby to sign up for Living Grounded.

I am going to sign up to take someone through Living Grounded or I am going to get the material and go through it with my children.

I am going to reach out to the Men’s Ministry for some help with an addiction.

We want our home to be uniquely Christian. Today we are going to have a family meeting and determine what we can do in our neighborhood to demonstrate our love for Christ and we are going to start by doing it anonymously so we can make sure this is for Jesus…not for our ego.
