Sessional Academic Teachers, Coaching Supervisors and Coaching Mentors On-campus: Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, and online Navitas was founded in 1994 with the goal of helping more international students succeed at university in Australia via improved student support and an extended academic year. The Australian C ollege of Applied Psychology (AC AP) is a Higher Education Institution and Registered Training Organisation within Navitas Professional and English Programs (PEP) Division that p rovides accredited higher degree courses in counselling, psychotherapy, psychology, social science, coaching and social work, and has been in operation for 30 years. Introduction to the role The School of C ounselling is looking for Academic Teachers to teach C oaching units within the Bachelor of C ounselling (C oaching); C oaching Supervisors to supervise coaching students in small groups; and C oaching Mentors to provide mentoring to students on a one-to-one basis. Academic Teachers, C oaching Supervisors and C oaching Mentors are engaged on a sessional, term by term basis by the School of C ounselling. C lasses are delive red on-campus, online and synchronous online. Academic Teachers and C oaching Supervisors provide a high level of interaction and involvement with the students in small classes. The School provides texts, course readings, curriculum and support, and mentoring of teaching practice. Essential Skills & Experience  Masters or higher qualification in a relevant discipline  Relevant professional experience  Eligibility for professional membership with the International C oach Federation (IC F)  C redentials with the IC F e.g. an AC C or PC C credential (or be willing to obtain these credentials)  Minimum two years’ teaching experience in higher education with evidence of positive evaluations, OR  Minimum two years’ experience in supervision  Demonstrated commitment to the development of an effective learning culture  A willingness to participate in the School of C ounselling’s Professional Development activities  Valid Working with C hildren C heck Desirable Skills & Experience  Synchronous teaching and facilitation experience using BlackBoard C ollaborate, Zoom or similar web conferencing software What we offer Navitas Group offers outstanding long-term career opportunities within Australia and abroad, and is values driven and an equal opportunity employer. 1. Overview and Objectives of the Position The Academic Teacher will prepare and teach unit curriculum via either on campus, online or blended modes of delivery in a manner which is interactive, innovative, and engaging. The responsibilities of the role include preparing weekly class learning materials based on the approved curriculum including the provision of student feedback and assessment. Teachers will also be exp ected to attend professional development workshops provided by the C ollege. The teaching (unit) load may vary each trimester depending on student enrolments. This position reports to the Academic Head of the respective campus (Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide).

Prepare and teach curriculum and assessments as appropriate for the mode of delivery



Respond and communicate regularly with students via appropriate online platforms



Provide students with regular feedback throughout the trimester.



Assess student work in a timely manner including uploading of grades on the e-portal.



Attend scheduled meets.



Follow and maintain Work Health and Safety procedures

4. Selection Criteria (Qualifications, Skills and Experience) SELECTION CRITERIA Essential 

Masters level qualification in C oaching or equivalent



Teaching experience at a tertiary level or extensive expertise in relevant discipline



Ability to liaise effectively with academics, administration, and other sessional teaching staff



Membership of relevant professional associations



Demonstrated computer literacy, including competence in using word processing, Excel, and Skype or Zoom



Knowledge of Work Health and Safety policies of relevance to the work environment



Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with School and C ollege staff.

Desirable 

Expertise in using Moodle and online teaching programs such as BlackBoard C ollaborate



Discipline and industry experience.
