Sick Child Policy "Therefore whatever you want others to do for you, do so for them..." Matthew 7:12 All of our caregivers are trained in proper health and hygiene guidelines when caring for the children in the First Presbyterian Nursery Department. We use disposable gloves when changing diapers and always wash our hands after removing our gloves. This will be our responsibility to keep our children healthy. We will work in tandem with the parents to help prevent the spread of disease in the Nursery rooms. To further protect the health of your child, all the children we serve and our Caregivers, please be considerate of the other families and use the following guidelines: The Caregivers cannot accept children who have had any of the following symptoms within the past 36 hours. Fever Colored nasal discharge Conjunctivitis ("pink eye") Eye or ear discharge Vomiting or diarrhea Skin infections Chronic cough or sore throat Cold sores around the mouth Impetigo Active Chicken pox or recent chicken pox vaccine (within 3 days) Any Acute Infectious Disease If your child is being treated with antibiotics, they should be on the medication at least 24 hours prior to coming to your Childs room. Please also note our Caregivers cannot administer any type of medication (which includes ointments, powders, etc...) If your child has a clear runny nose or other symptoms due to allergies, please let us know,we realize some symptoms hang on when a child is not contagious. Thank you for doing your part to adhere to this sickness policy.
