SICK DAYS Full-time staff are allowed five paid sick days per year. Part-time staff who work a minimum of 25 hours per week are allowed a number of hours commensurate with the hours they work, prorated to a forty-hour work week. Unused sick days may be carried over from one year to the next to an accumulated maximum of 10 days. Sick days may be used for personal illness, doctor’s appointments, caring for a sick family member, or for parenting leave. Sick days are not to be used as vacation days. Illness requiring the use of more than 3 consecutive sick days will require a doctor’s release to return to work. All extended illness or medical treatments that require staff to be out of the office should be reported to HR as there may be leave policies or other considerations to discuss. Unused sick days will not be paid upon termination. Sick time may not be taken after a notice of resignation has been submitted.
