KEEPING IT REAL

“The fear of the lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction” (Proverbs 1:7). How does this impact your life, as a believer?

LOOK AT THE BOOK

read up on why God is a good source for wisdom (romans 11:3336; daniel 2:20-23; Job 12:13,16). fear of the lord is rooted in faith (Hebrews 11:1, 6). How can you consolidate wisdom from God with fear of God? in James 1:2-5, we are prompted to ask God for wisdom. learn more about this by reading matthew 7:7-11 and mark 11:22-24. The James passage also states that trials produce patience that allows us to lack nothing. so is it safe to assume that tested faith (trials) increase our dependence on God for wisdom? What else does scripture have to say about how we are affected by trials (romans 5:3-5; 1 Peter 1:6-9, 4:12-13)?
