SMALL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT CENTER RECOGNIZES FREMONT BUSINESS Small Business Development Center Executive Director also honored Fremont, Ohio, May 1, 2018 – Terra State Community College’s Small Business Development Center (SBDC) celebrated National Small Business Week by honoring Kuns Northcoast Security and its owner Roger Kuns at a ceremony held today at the Ronald L. Neeley Conference and Hospitality Center on the College’s campus. Kuns and his business received the “Small Business Development Center’s Outstanding Small Business Client” Award. The award is sponsored by the U.S. Small Business Administration. Kuns, a former officer in the United State Marine Corps, has owned Northcoast Security since May 2010. The company specialized in over 2200 different keys, door hardware, digital high-definition and closed circuit TV, access controls and complete burglar alarm and home automation systems. Kuns Northcoast Security has both retail and warehouse locations in Fremont and a sales office in Perrysburg. The company serves northwest Ohio and is growing its customer base both nationally and internationally. Each year, the US Small Business Administration celebrates National Small Business Week. The “Small Business Development Center’s Outstanding Small Business Client” Award is based on a business’ sustainability and staying power, growth in number of employees, increase in sales, net profit, net worth, response to adversity and contributions to the community. In addition to Kuns Northcoast Security, Bill Auxter of the SBDC at Terra State Community College was recognized by James Donato, Deputy District Director of the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Cleveland District Office for “all that Bill does for small business owners.” Auxter has served as Director for twenty years and has worked with over 3000 businesses in either their launch or expansion. Terra State Community College is a two-year accredited, state-supported, commuter college located in Fremont, Ohio. Terra State has a long history of service to the community and providing students with an education that is both accessible and affordable. Terra State offers twenty-two Applied Degrees and Certificates to students.
