YOU ARE NOT LIMITED BY YOUR LABEL.

SC R IPTURE Then Pharaoh’s daughter went down to the Nile to bathe, and her attendants were walking along the riverbank. She saw the basket among the reeds and sent her female slave to get it. She opened it and saw the baby. He was crying, and she felt sorry for him. “This is one of the Hebrew babies,” she said (Exodus 2:5–6 NIV)

DIS CUS S IO N QUES TIO N S 1. Without naming names, what are some of the labels that you see people give to each other? 2. Why do you think labels are so powerful? 3. How can someone’s label create limits for their future? 4. Why do you think the label “Hebrew” could have limited Moses’ potential during the time he was living? 5. How do you think Moses was able to rise above his “Hebrew” label to live a big life? 6. If you believed that God’s power was bigger than your label, how would you live differently? 7. If you gave yourself permission to dream big, what would you dream for your life and future? (Leaders – this question might be easier for students to type into their phones or answer on a notecard, since sharing your dream in a group can be a vulnerable experience.)

THINK ABOUT THIS

TRY THIS

Leaders — This whole series is about your students’ potential. Most students don’t realize how much potential they have. Throughout this series, encourage your students to pursue God’s plan for them. Encourage them to serve, dream, be consistent, etc. Pray for them to see their God-given potential.

Leaders — Reach out to your students sometime this week and ask them how they answered question #7. Use this as an opportunity to encourage your students.
