SMALL GROUP QUESTIONS

WEEK:

GOAL OF TONIGHT Help students see how God’s story intersects with their story and why that matters in their day-to-day life. WELCOME & ICE BREAKER

Talk about these questions: At what point in your life were you most exhausted? What were you doing? How did you recover? BIBLE PASSAGE Hebrews 12:1-3

QUESTIONS TO DISCUSS THE BIBLE VERSE There is so much that can hold us back in our faith. But what if we threw it all to the side and held Jesus up as our example on how to endure?

What are some examples of endurance in your life? (ex. School, work outs, long car rides, someone taking about sports or video games or make up, etc.) Hebrews 12:1-3 is all about how we can gain strength in our faith by remembering how people before us have followed God and how Jesus endured the death on a cross for us. What are some ways we are inspired by people from history? What does the author of Heb. 12 mean when he says, “Fix your eyes on Jesus?” When we endure in our faith that usually means we have to give some things up. What are some examples are stuff we have to give up? What are some of the benefits to enduing in your faith?

LEADER INSIGHT Help students see the difference between enduring begrudgingly and inspired endurance. Help them see how Jesus is our inspiration and when we endure in faith we are like Him.
