As of: Position Title: Position Holder: Supervisor: Church membership: General Overview This person’s primary focus will be to learn and grow through a variety of practical hands on experiences within the area of the resident’s assigned ministry department. As part of the church staff, he/she will become familiar with elements unique to a large church setting. The Resident will grow through significant experience hearing from God in order to live out Spirit‐led ministry. He/she will also gain a strong understanding of the overall organizational and ministerial programming of a church environment. In an effort to effectively meet these goals, written updates will be presented and discussed bi‐weekly between the resident and his/her supervisor. Position Summary This position works under the direction of the SHV Kids Director/Pastor to ensure a Christ honoring, Biblically based, relationally strong and Holy Spirit driven focus of ministry. He/she will work with the SHV Kids Director/Pastor to uphold the value of the children’s ministry vision to equip kids to authentically follow Jesus. This person will also seek out effective ways to build relationships with children, their parents, and ministry volunteers to uphold the value of a strong family‐based ministry. Specific Responsibilities Assist in recruiting, training, and nurturing volunteers to ensure a vibrant volunteer‐driven ministry Opportunity to develop curriculum unique to SHV Kids including significant time allotted for prayer and experiencing Jesus through the Bible Build into the lives of volunteers, providing inspiration, and leadership to effectively engage adult and youth volunteers. One significant venue for this is through scheduling volunteers. Personally engage with kids, families and volunteers to encourage and equip them in their life and faith Assist in oversight and execution of Sunday morning services and preparations Oversee logistical execution of Sunday services (ideally, this will be supervising volunteers who do the preparations) Assist / lead events such as Harvest Party and VBS Perform administrative duties as needed. Will be trained to become operational in the computer application Fellowship One. Skills/Requirements: Passion for developing and equipping people spiritually regardless of age Teachable spirit Ability to work in a team Relationally wired and task oriented Effective conflict resolution skills, personal professionalism and strong work ethic Organized and effective at prioritizing Work Week Approximately 20 hours per week Sundays, Wednesdays and times in the office as discussed with Supervisor
