SOCIAL MEDIA AND MARKETING COORDINATOR DALLAS SPORTS COMMISSION The Dallas Sports Commission (DSC) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to attract, retain, support and execute sports and entertainment events that will position Dallas as the premier sports destination and have a positive impact on the economy and quality of life of Dallas residents. We strive to provide event organizers of amateur, collegiate, Olympic or professional sporting events or meetings with a one stop shop. With just one call the Dallas Sports Commission Team will assist and facilitate all the necessary steps in planning a fantastic event in Dallas or the surrounding area. SCOPE We’re looking for a creative and passionate Social Media and Marketing Coordinator to join our team to create, plan, manage, and execute marketing initiatives for the DSC, hosted sports events, and community initiatives. In addition, this position is responsible for development and execution of the DSC social media platforms to elevate the brand and associated events while integrating into the overall organization strategic plan. RESPONSIBILITIES A. Develop and manage the DSC digital and social media platforms and create additional content for hosted sports event or LOC contracted functions. • Manage the DSC social media platforms through creation of new content and researching relative content to publish. • Strategize to maximize DSC social media platforms as a marketing tool to drive DSC event ticket sales and awareness of DSC events. • Create, manage and track all social media contests, giveaways, etc. that promote the DSC and its event rights holders’ brands. • Determine trackable metrics for evaluation of social media channels and provide reports as needed. • Willingness to stay-up-to-date on current technology, platforms, and trends related to use of social media. • Assist with the management of the image library by aggressively seeking new images and ensuring the library is up-to-date. • Plan, manage, develop and create content for the DSC and events through photos, video, blogs, website, newsletters, and e-blasts. • Train team members to use and engage in social media in a cohesive way utilizing brand, voice, and feel of the DSC.

B. Develop and implement creative marketing plans for all future events, prospects, and bids. • Collaborate and work with the business development and sales team to create marketing plans for event execution but also develop the overall creative and marketing approach for bid proposals. • Create and update marketing materials including display booths, signage, collateral, presentations, bid books, and flyers. • Assist in the creation of major bid presentations. C. Plan and develop marketing plans for promoting hosted sporting events where the DSC serves as the Local Organizing Committee. • Secure alignment with event’s marketing team to create and execute marketing plan. • Strategize and develop new community and grassroots events to extend the branding and awareness of hosted events as well as integration of expanding awareness for the DSC within the community. D. Develop and cultivate relationships within the sports, media, hospitality partners, community and clients to further the goals of the DSC. E. Represent the DSC at local athletic and civic events or committees as needed. F. Create an end of year report featuring the accomplishments of the DSC each year including successful metrics and future strategic planning. G. Create a community platform and grassroot events that further expand the local exposure of the DSC. SUPERVISION The position reports to the Director of Communications & Marketing with interaction and strategic planning with the Executive Director. PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION Education• The ideal candidate will have a four-year degree from an accredited college or university and 2-4 years of demonstrated experience in marketing and social media required (sports marketing experience preferred). Specific Skills• Excellent written and verbal communications skills. • Resourceful; creative problem solver; detail-oriented; highly organized; strong editing skills. • Ability to multi-task by working on numerous events at once while meeting deadlines. • Excellent time management and communication skills necessary to succeed in this position. • Positive attitude and passionate energy with a willingness to learn new things. • Respectful to team members and able to work in an inclusive environment. • Exhibits initiative and follow through on commitments.

Must be comfortable crafting well-structured, solid strategic marketing plans. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Proficient and active user of multiple social media platforms. Experience in InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere Pro and Photoshop preferred. Experience with online applications. Proficient in social media platforms including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube and Snapchat. Must be an enthusiastic team player willing to work evenings and weekends at events. Some travel may be required. Ability and comfort level to interact with clients, board members, event rights holders, facility managers and vendors.
