SPECIAL CALLED COUNCIL MEETING A Special Called Meeting of the Baxley City Council was held May 31, 2017, at 12:00 p.m., with the following members present: Mayor Steve Rigdon; Councilmembers: Betty Livingston, Mickey Bass, George Skipper, and Pat Williams.. Absent: Mayor Pro Tem Esco Hall, Jr and Councilman Tim Varnadore. City officials present were: Jeff Baxley, City Manager; and Reba Cash, City Clerk. No members of the public were present. Mayor Rigdon called the Baxley City Council to order on this the 31st day of May 2017, at 12:00 p.m., for the primary purpose of discussing the group health insurance rate increase. Mayor Rigdon gave the invocation. Mayor Rigdon and City Manager Baxley called this special meeting to inform the Council of the upcoming annual renewal cost of an 18% increase or $80,000 as follows: Aetna OAMC Current Rates (annual) Aetna OAMC Renewal Rates (annual)

$517,432.92 $597,039.12

Councilwoman Livingston made the motion to accept the renewal rate as recommended by Manager Baxley with the minor change Memorial University Hospital in Savannah will not be considered in network. This motion was seconded by Councilman Skipper and carried unanimously. There being no further business, Mayor Rigdon declared the special called council meeting adjourned.
