Special priority when your nation needs you most Verizon Wireless Priority Service

Reliability always matters—but there are times when priority is just as important. And there’s a powerful wireless tool that can help your agency’s critical resources take that priority when making the call couldn’t be more important. Verizon Wireless Priority Service (WPS) creates a special top-level priority for wireless communications access that key agency personnel can use during emergencies. WPS lets these individuals receive a higher priority over any available facilities for wireless voice services with America’s largest and most reliable network: Verizon. Agencies and organizations that provide critical infrastructure and services during emergency response and disaster recovery have the reliable communications they need to fulfill their missions. By connecting your agency’s leadership with WPS, you’re helping to ensure that those important calls get through when every second counts. And you’ll have the peace of mind that comes with knowing you’ve taken a critical step toward keeping your agency on mission for times when all eyes are on you.

How you can get WPS for your agency’s leadership Because WPS is managed by the Office of Emergency Communications (OEC) of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), you’ll need to follow its defined process for determining eligibility. The OEC sets authorizations to one of five priority levels (one being highest), based on the subscriber’s national security or emergency preparedness role:

• Public health, safety and law enforcement command • Public services/utilities and public welfare • Disaster recovery

How does WPS work? It’s easy. Once your new service is approved, activated and available in your service area, just dial *272 followed by the 10-digit number you’re trying to reach. Our network automatically puts your call in high-priority status when a channel becomes available. You don’t need any special cards or codes, and you can use your existing Verizon Wireless devices without modification.

What’s the pricing for WPS? WPS is available as a complimentary service with our new pricing plans. New contracts for public safety help reduce WPS MOU charges, as well as dropping the costs for WPS MRCs, to $0. Federal General Services Administration (GSA) contracts are also $0 MRC as before, but are now also $0 MOU. Only enterprise WPS users will continue to be charged $4.50 MRC and $0.75 MOU.

How can Verizon Wireless help me get WPS? We have a dedicated customer activation and support department that’s always a call away at 1.877.262.2950—or you can get fast details anytime on the web at dhs.gov/requesting-wps

• Executive leadership and policy makers • Disaster response/military command and control

WPS access is subject to the terms and conditions of your customer agreement and calling plan.
