SPECIAL PROJECTS FUNDRAISER (MANAGER) New York, NY – Full Time About the Company: The Armenian General Benevolent Union was established in 1906 and is the world’s largest non-profit organization devoted to preserving and promoting the Armenian identity and heritage through educational, cultural, and humanitarian programs. AGBU currently has a presence in 31 countries, annually touching the lives of some 500,000 Armenians worldwide. Job Description: The Special Projects Fundraiser (Manager) will report to the Director of Development and Outreach and will work with Program Coordinators to develop, implement, and manage fundraising campaigns for special projects and one-time funding initiatives. He/she will be responsible for identifying, cultivating, and soliciting donors and contributing to the fundraising goals of the Development and Outreach Department as they relate to these special projects and one-time funding initiatives. Responsibilities: • Collaborate with the Director of Development and Outreach on fundraising planning and management • Help identify funding priorities and set campaign goals for special projects and one-time funding initiatives • Develop print, electronic, and social media campaign materials • Research and identify prospects and craft personalized approaches for each • Build and maintain relationships with donors • Identify annual donors to cultivate leadership level and special campaign giving • Research potential funding sources including new prospects, non-donor alumni, and corporations and foundations identified by the Director of Development and Outreach and volunteers • Draft funding proposals • Help maintain the Raiser’s Edge database with relevant record updates and information of new constituents • Coordinate in-house special campaign mailings and provide some clerical support • Assist with other fundraising activities as requested/needed by the Director Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent • 5+ years of fundraising experience with a focus in leadership level or major gift and special events fundraising • Highly organized and detail oriented • Works well independently but also within a team • Works well and presents well with volunteers, board members, senior staff members, and colleagues • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously • Takes initiative and proposes new ideas but must also be open to ideas from others • Professional attitude, pleasant demeanor, energetic and enthusiastic • Experience with Raiser’s Edge is preferred • Grant writing experience is a plus • Respect for confidentiality of donor information • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook • United States citizenship or residency required Ideal candidate must demonstrate core AGBU values: Trust, Teamwork, Service and Respect for Diversity.
