Coffee Hour reception for Robert 2020 Episcopal Youth Event Planning Team We are happy to announce that our own Emily Lawitz has accepted an invitation to serve on the Episcopal Youth Event 2020 (EYE20) Planning Team. She will be the first person from our diocese ever to serve. The event will be held at in the Episcopal Diocese of Washington at Howard University on July 7-11, 2020. Please see the link to the announcement here. Congratulations, Emily! From Rev. Judy: Dear Reconcilers, One of the greatest joys of my twenty-five years of priesthood has been the blessing of discernment conversations about vocations in the church with young adults. It is a profound privilege to share a love for Jesus, a desire to serve the Body of Christ, the Church, and bare one's heart as we seek God's desire for our lives. Such has been my relationship with Emily Lawitz over these past three years. And I am thrilled not only for her but also for the wider church as she was notified of her acceptance on the young adult planning team representing our diocese and our province! This is a tremendous honor in a highly competitive pool of applicants from all over our country. Emily will also attend Duke Divinity School and University of the South (Sewanee) as she is accepted into two young adult programs in theology and theological debate. The Duke program require a full year of mentoring which I am honored to offer. Please read the national church announcement as it will inform you of the details of this selection. I ask you to hold Emily in prayer AND if there are young people in your life that speak ever so shyly about serving Jesus in the church and the world, please know that I would be honored to share the journey.

Blessings upon all our children and young people. May they always know they are the beloved of God. Robert has often described the Big Bend National Park as "Big Book". This concept reflects well in the current exhibit of photographs and sketches being displayed in Brown Hall through May by several of our church members who accompanied Robert in his last venture of the "Big Book" last February. Many of the photographs/sketches are for sale with 25% of the proceeds being donated to our youth program. (You will need to ask the photographer/artist). Greeter!!

Join Rev. Judy, Fr. Robert, and Evan Hierholzer on the four Sundays in May at 9:15 in the Alban classroom as we use the format developed by the Society of St. John the Evangelist, an order of Anglican Monks who have monasteries in Cambridge and in West Newbury, Massachusetts to develop our own "Rule of Life;" that is, a recreative, freeing, restorative process to bring balance, joy, freedom, and peace to your life in Christ. May 26: Join Judy, Robert, & Evan as we "tour" one another's Garden of the Soul and share our personal "Rule of Life" If you haven't ever thought of yourself as a "Gardener" or as having a "green thumb" NOW is your opportunity! Legacy Project "As I think back on 2008, what excites me most is that our renewed commitment to being intentional about the ministry of reconciliation has begun to bear visible fruit and is pointing us towards even greater possibilities in the future. We witnessed and celebrated many reconciliation experiences for our members, from long-awaited weddings to anniversaries of sobriety. To better equip us as reconcilers, we studied together the core values of faith-based reconciliation in our Lenten Study. A group of Reconcilers has served as a major catalyst and energizing force for the organization of the first anti-racism training in our Diocese in May of 2008, and the formation of a Diocesan Reconciliation Commission to carry on this work. And perhaps most powerfully, this community has been a place of reconciliation and unwavering support for a member who made serious mistakes and as a result is walking a difficult path through our judicial and penal systems. This simple witness to the power of reconciliation continues to reverberate in this community and the wider community in ways that we may never fully appreciate." - Rev Robert Woody Notices Like us on Facebook Join Our Mailing List!
