WHAT

The Southeast’s Largest Skilled Trade Event SkillsUSA Louisiana Postsecondary is a partnership of students, Teachers and business industry working together to ensure a skilled and highly trained workforce. SkillsUSA state competition recognizes career and technical education students who excel in their occupational areas and spotlights leadership development activities that are such an integral part of the SkillsUSA program. It rewards students for excellence in the areas of Architecture and Construction, A/V Technology and Communications, Food, Hospitality and Human Services, Health Sciences, Leadership Development, Manufacturing, Public Safety, STEM Information Technology, and Transportation, Distribution and Logistics. Each year more than 300 students around the state compete to showcase their skills and talents in over 130 career and technical education (CTE) related programs. SkillsUSA Louisiana empowers students to achieve career success and become excellent workers, leaders and responsible citizens.

WHO

Mainly for postsecondary students, but employers like it, too! The SkillsUSA Louisiana Postsecondary state completion is designed for postsecondary students. It rewards students for excellence, Involves industry partners in directly evaluating student performance, and keeps training relevant to the employer’s needs. Each contest directly follow technical standards established by Industry each year. SkillsUSA Louisiana has more than 3000 members and over 100 chapters in 10 industries representing 130 career fields.

WHY

For Every Four People Leaving the Skilled Trades Only One Person Entering the Skilled Trades. We have a shortage of skilled workers in the Career and Technical Industry. With Baby Boomers retiring, there are not enough young People properly trained to perform. The SkillsUSA Louisiana Postsecondary state competition is designed to fill the workforce Industry’s skills gap. It also provides employers with a platform to Engage with young highly skilled and trained potential employees; to give employers an opportunity to connect with their future workforce and to get folks excited about their individual company.

$500 EXHIBITOR -6 foot table on exhibit hall floor -Company name on main entry signage -Company name on website and in vendor guide

$ 1000 APPRENTICESHIP SPONSORSHIP The Apprenticeship Sponsorship provides organizers with the opportunity to help cover the cost of buying prizes, mandatory uniforms, student membership fees for student competitors in the skills competition. With more than 300 student competitors, many prizes are needed as we award first, second and third place prizes in each competition. -6 foot table on exhibit hall floor -Company name on main entry signage -Company name on website and in vendor guide -Opportunity to choose the competition you will be providing prizes

$2500 RED SEAL SPONSORSHIP The Red Seal Sponsorship supports the food costs to feed more than 300 competitors in the skills competitions, while also providing them with water and nutritional snacks during the day. It is essential that students are in good health during the competitions so they can perform to the best of their abilities; therefore feeding them is a major priority for event organizers. -6 foot table on exhibit hall floor -Company name on main entry signage and main stage presentation -Company name and logo signage in lunch venue -Company name on website and in vendor guide -Company name on student competitor meal ticket

$5000 JOURNEYMAN SPONSORSHIP The journeyman sponsorship is intended to support the cost of materials needed to run the various skills competitions at the SkillsUSA Louisiana event. Depending on what competitions you sponsor, the materials purchased may be donated to local community and technical colleges if they can be re-used. -6 foot table on exhibit hall floor -Company name on main entry signage and main stage presentation -Company name on website and in vendor guide -Pre-event advertising on our social media platform announcing sponsorship -Opportunity to have your employees participate as judges in a competition -Opportunity to choose the competition you want to sponsor -Opportunity to present winning students with their prize (includes photo op)
