~ Steve, Jeannie & Tyler ~

Dear Birthparents, We are Steve, Jeannie, and our son Tyler. Thank you so much for taking the time to read our letter and getting to know a little bit about us. Before we tell you our story, we want you to know that our hearts and prayers are with you as you are going through this difficult decision process. We have gone through the adoption process before and know this is not easy, but we will use our experience and do our best to support you as needed both now and in the future. We are aware of the enormous sacrifice you are making based on love and selflessness and we are truly amazed by your strength. Your child is blessed to have someone show them the unconditional love they deserve. We are two engineers that met in college, married six years later, started to build our family through the adoption of our son four years ago, and have loved every moment since. We are now emotionally ready to open our hearts again and continue to grow our family through adoption. We work hard, play hard, love unconditionally, and we believe that this not only allows us to experience our lives to the fullest, but also prepares a life for our children to thrive and do the same. We have known about our infertility issues from the beginning of our relationship, so we knew that to expand our family later on in life we would need to adopt. Finding out about our infertility issues early on turned out to be a blessing in disguise, because it allowed us to prepare emotionally and financially for the next steps in building a family. We wish only the best for you and your child, and we will keep you in our prayers throughout this process. With Love, Steve, Jeannie & Tyler

JEANNIE ABOUT STEVE When I met Steve, I fell in love with his enormous heart, infectious laugh, and most importantly, his love for life. He is the rock of our relationship and the best father that I know. Steve is a motocross racer, diaper changer, bonfire starter, dinner maker, camping event planner, goofy dancer, car maintainer, Cleveland sports supporter, hard worker, outdoor adventurer, handyman extraordinaire, fishing master, encouraging father, and all around amazing guy! I actually had trouble finding pictures of him without our son, because the two are inseparable. He is a big kid at heart, so he is thrilled to revisit all of his favorite activities with Tyler while also teaching him how to have fun, be a kind and loving person, and live life to the fullest. He makes everyone around him feel happy and loved, and we are all so blessed to have him in our lives making each day even more amazing. STEVE ABOUT JEANNIE My wife Jeannie is a smart, loving, energetic and adventurous person. She works hard, is a great wife and a loving mother. We have been through a lot in our 13 years together, and by that I mean countless memories, laughs, and adventures with myself, our family, and our friends. She can get dressed up and hang with the girls or she can throw on her jeans and get muddy with the guys. She loves to be active and recently ran the 10-mile Tough Mudder obstacle race and is currently coaching Tyler’s soccer team. She also loves to plan over-the-top birthday parties. The last was a superhero theme complete with a visit from Spiderman and Tyler still talks about it! I fell in love with my wife’s adventurous spirit, but seeing her with our son, I fall more in love with her every day. She is supportive, loving, and works hard to give Tyler as many life experiences as possible. I know she is going to be such an amazing mom to our next child, and I am just so happy to experience my life with her.

FAMILY We both come from loving, supportive, and engaged families. Steve has an older brother and sister who have made us the aunt and uncle to five amazing nieces and nephews. Jeannie has three younger brothers who love to be the uncles to their amazing nephew, Tyler. Both sets of parents are thrilled that we are growing our family. Jeannie’s parents are snowbirds who are around in the spring and fall, provide a great vacation destination at their home in Florida in the winter, and offer an amazing outdoor fishing vacation experience at their Canadian cottage in the summer. Steve’s parents live locally, babysit and spoil the grandkids a few days a week, and host many family holiday parties throughout the year. We both work as managers in our companies during the work week. Along with Steve’s parents, we rely on a friend/neighbor to babysit and support us while at work. Cheryl turned her basement into a kid-zone and offers daily babysitting to a number of children. She has been a blessing and offers us not only the peace of mind during the day but also an amazing group of kids for our children to play with during the day and our families to grow as friends and family at night and on the weekends. RILEY This is our sweet family dog, Riley. Riley joined the family from a rescue facility a few months before Tyler was born to help cheer us up after a previous adoption had fallen through, so the two have grown up together as great friends. She has unlimited energy which is great since her favorite hobbies are chasing the boys on the quads around the yard and going on long jogs with Jeannie at the nearby nature trail. She is gentle, sweet, and just happy to be involved in whatever the family activity is that day. OUR HOME We live in a new home on a beautiful and private 2-acre wooded lot, in a neighborhood with lots of kids, and a creek running through the backyard. This is truly our piece of heaven! While we love to get out and about, most of our evenings and weekend afternoons are spent playing outside in the creek, riding in the large yard, shooting hoops, grilling on the back deck, or walking through the neighborhood to visit friends.

HOBBIES & INTERESTS Jeannie grew up playing soccer through college, loves trying new things, and still competes at anything she can find someone to challenge. Steve grew up racing anything with wheels, being an outdoorsman fishing and camping, and still cheers for all Cleveland sports despite them never winning a championship. Tyler looks like Jeannie but acts just like Steve. He loves riding his quad, being outdoors, took karate to be like the Power Rangers, plays soccer and t-ball, makes us laugh, and melts our hearts with his kindness. Our primary traditions are a summer canoe/camping trip, going to Pumpkin patches in October, cutting down our Christmas tree in December, trying to survive winter by staying busy, spending as much time by water as possible, and no matter what, doing it all as a family. We love being active, living life to the fullest, trying new things, and having fun. Rather than list some of our hobbies and interests, we thought it would be best to give you a glimpse into our life with some recent family pictures.

IN CLOSING We are so excited to continue the adoption process and grow as a family. We feel we can offer so much to a child and the most important things we can offer are our unconditional love and support. We have an amazing open relationship with Tyler’s birthmother, and we are open to working with you to develop an adoption plan that works best for you and your child. We know this is not an easy time for you, but our thoughts and prayers are with you as you are making these difficult decisions. We wish you and your child the best. With Love - Steve, Jeannie, and Tyler
