FELLOWSHIP GROUPS Discussion Guide

STORY Fellowship Group Curriculum | Session One

Group Covenant Why do we have Fellowship Groups? Read Hebrews 10:23-25 Review the Fellowship Group Covenant 1. What is the purpose of Fellowship Groups? What’s the difference between “doing life together” and “encouraging each other to pursue life in Jesus”? 2. How will sharing our stories help us know one another? 3. What would it look like for our group to focus our group discussions on helping each other apply God’s Word to our lives? BIG IDEA: Fellowship Groups exist to lead people to life in Jesus. The Group Covenant is a way to communicate our commitment to this purpose and to one another as a group. •

Why do you think commitment matters? Why is it important for a healthy group?

Which aspect of the Group Covenant do you find the most challenging? How can the group help you with this commitment?

Signing the Group Covenant: Ready to sign the covenant? If everyone is ready to sign, then take time to sign it as a group. After everyone has signed take time to pray about this commitment. Need more time before signing? If your group is not ready to sign, give each other time to contemplate and pray about this commitment. Make plans to sign the covenant at your next group meeting.

Story Our group curriculum will focus on stories. Each week we will take turns sharing our Gospel Story with one another using the Gospel Story Guide to direct how we write and share our story. In our Bible discussion we will focus on a story from scripture. Gospel Story Sharing: Group Leader Gospel Story Guide Each group meeting, we will spend 20-30 minutes sharing our Gospel stories with one another. Your group leader will coordinate the schedule for this sharing time. The Gospel Story Guide is available from your leader, or you can download a copy from the church website. • •
