// SUGGESTED ACTIVITIES Below is a list of suggested activities that an intern under STUDENT MINISTRIES could expect to be involved with. STUDENT MINISTRIES: Engagement, Observation, Reflection 1. Student Ministries Leadership Team Meetings – Observe and participate in the Student Ministries (no apostrophe here) Leadership Team Meetings. 2. Ministry Team Leadership – Oversee/Lead a ministry team within Student Ministries. (i.e., snack, connections, prayer, pastoral care, icebreaker) 3. Small Group – Lead a small group discussion, or help write questions for the small group leaders. 4. Teaching – Preach or teach at a Student Ministries event, or for another ministry. 5. Connections Ministry – Assist with the Student Ministries’ Connection team in helping set a welcoming environment for others. 6. Sound/Media/Worship – Be involved with, or help lead any of the following worship arts ministries: sound, media, social media, worship. 7. EDGE 56 – Assist with the Fifth and Sixth grade ministry on Sunday mornings and Monday nights. 8. Event – Help to plan or serve in a Student Ministries event or retreat. (i.e., Winter Formal, Retreat, Club Nights, Fellowship Night, Outreach, Fundraiser) 9. Outreach – Help the outreach team in planning and doing an outreach event or project. 10. Missions Trip – Be a part of, or help plan, a Petra-approved missions trip (equivalent to 20 internship hours). 11. Additional – Any suggested ideas by either the intern or the Internship Director are welcomed. 12. Administration – Help with the administrative planning, promotion, or cleanup of activities, events, and groups; telephone calls; room set-up; data entry; visitor follow-up; errands, helping with large mailings, etc. GENERAL PASTORAL MINISTRY 1. Staff Meetings – Attend Tuesday staff meetings and debrief with your assigned pastor. 2. Ministry Leaders’ Meeting – Attend a ministry leaders’ retreat or planning meeting. (i.e., Guest Services, Worship, Petra Men, EDGE, Small Group, Prayer Ministry, etc.) 3. Conferences and Seminars – Attend any additional conferences or seminars that show how pastors equip themselves. 4. Network Pastors’ Meeting – Attend a Hopewell Network pastors’ meeting to see collaboration among churches.
